What a shame, I liked his style of comedy, always gave the impression he didn't have clue what was going on.

A comedy genius from a bygone era. It's shame we have so much drivel served up as comedy these days that real commedians, like Sykes, can't get on the TV.

I'm talking about these so called 'celeb' comedians they wheel out to comment on those 100 Best Moments of' programmes where the only thing they can do is make some snide remark about whoever it is they've been selected to comment on.

lol i had forgotten this ,it is so well crafted ,and Tommy Cooper was so funny you only had to look at him,I saw him live once and he was trying to find his way onstage ofr 5 minutes and only talking into a mic, everyone was totally cracked up before they even saw him.

happy memories

Tight fisted though. He only gave me sixpence for washing his car when I was a Boy Scout doing bob-job. His neighbour but one, Tom Jones gave me half a crown, a glass of milk and a piece of cake!

To tell the truth, the only thing I knew him from (Sykes the TV show) I didn't think was very good.........Not to slag him off and I am aware that lot's of people liked him, but I always thought Ronnie Barker was a much more versatile and funnier actor and writer............RIP though, all the same......

Talking of the curtain coming down I remember watching Tommy cooper die, He was on stage perorming, then went to the curtain grabbed it and sort of fell behind, it was such an odd movement and not untypical of Tommys sense of humour so at first I was laughing, until suddenly the break came in which seemed really early and we realised that something was up, I dont know if he would have liked the thought that he and died entertaining and making people laugh but it does seem apt.
