west here ford shire

Not a swinging topic, but a contentious issue none the less.

Abandon or keep?

Personally I think it’s ruining football, to many ludicrous decisions

Thats why now the ref makes a decision and its the vid refs job to disprove it makes it much fairer i think

Give each team three challenges per game, if they disagree with a decision, They can ask the ref to look at it again with a second ref at stockley park, but let the teams decide rather than letting the nerds ruin our beautiful game

Referees seem to have too big of an ego which stops them from using it at times.

Since the start of last season we have seen many decisions going the wrong way because the ref hasn't followed the rules himself and gone to look at the screen.

We are even finding fault in that age old rules don't seem to apply anymore for var purposes - e.g. You can only be offside by a part of your body you can score with, several offsides have been ruled as offside when the elbow or armpit are playing them off

VAR is highlighting some of the absurdities in the current rules.

Don't shoot the messenger.

Don’t think it’s var as such but the clueless people that are manning it the Mersey side derby is a prime example..

I think var is misused and not used for how it should be used

I'm not a fan of it. If people are spending more time discussing a VAR decision than the actual game, that has to be wrong.

Good and bad decisions even themselves out throughout the course of a season. Get rid and bring back the passion it's too methodical now.

Worthing

It's spoiling the game. Football is all about constant excitement and flowing play. An example is that I saw a goal scored only for the ref to stop, consult var and award a penalty the other end. Just plain stupid and not the game I grew up loving.
