Brighton was lovely...though I was shocked at the amount of homelessness and vagrancy there.

So many lovely places to see

Central

I've visited many incredible seaside towns in Cornwall but am at a loss to know which is the best, partly due to the passage of time between them and today. I have many fond childhood memories of Looe, due to local family stays but I've been to Polperro and many others that were stunningly wonderful as an adult. Doesn't help a lot and I am biased.

Swansea actually I never thought of Swansea as a seaside town before I moved here, but I have since found a beautiful long beach, its a hidden gem which I haven't heard anyone talk about before.

I've stayed in a lot of coastal towns with work and one which stands out is Brighton and Hove because I couldn't see a bit of sand anywhere. I'm looking forward to checking a few out up north next time.

We are lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the world. There are so many places we have fallen in love with but for me it’ll always be Edinburgh, my 2nd home

Not a huge fan of the tacky kiss me quick seaside towns although they have their time and place.

Have grown a fondness for Margate though - the Turner Contemporary there is wonderful, the beach vast and sandy and there's a small gentrified quarter that's great for browsing - yes it has the tacky side but it's hidden away a little.

Other notable mentions for Whitby, Southwold, Looe and Whitstable

On a mooch

Too many to mention, but I love those that you feel you are stepping back in time; or find myself an isolated spot anywhere along the coast from John O Groats to Lands End, north Wales, Cumbria, Northumberland, east Scottish coast, Yorkshire, Norfolk and Dorset (I’d spend hours on Chesil Beach looking for that unusual stone to take home).... lots of fond memories of the coastline as a child and need to start exploring them again

For those that said north Norfolk... sssh don’t tell too many people

For me the city has to be Edinburgh.

Seaside place its a toss up between Whitby and anywhere on the North Norfolk coast.
