La la land

1) Do I like being complimented?

2) Do I know how to respond to compliments?

3) Does it make you wish that people would not compliment you?

4) Do you still seek validation nonetheless?

5) Do you ever truly believe the compliments people give you?

6) Do you still need compliments?

And are these answers the same on fab as they are off the site?

It's. Ice to be complimented. Do I seek then out and look for other forms or validation? Absolutely not.. I'm me.. To thine own self be true. If people like me and want to compliment me, great. If they couldn't care less, great.

1. Not usually.

2. If you mean me, then no not really. I usually want to tell them they are wrong but that sounds a bit shit.

3. Sometimes.

4. Probably in some ways.

5. I believe they believe them but I don't necessarily think they should.

6. I don't know.

These are the same on and off Fab.

Me I like being complimented, though I never know how to respond to them at all. I can get embarrassed and often tell people to shut up. Compliments on looks I tend not to believe, but if it's on something else I more likely to.

Manchester (she/her)

1) Sometimes, depends on the person, the compliment, and our relationship.

2) As above. (Although is that how people want me to respond or what's best for me?)

3) Sometimes. Sometimes compliments can be manipulative

4) Yes

5) Sometimes, depends on the person, the compliment, and our relationship.

6) Less compliments and more validation/ connection from people who matter

Yes, because "it depends" covers Fab too

On fab I take things with a pinch of salt. I tend not to believe that I’m the most amazing, beautiful blah blah blah woman. Things get said usually with an agenda, this doesn’t bother me too much being the nature of the site is what it is.

Away from fab, I don’t like being put on a pedestal. I struggle with the pressure to maintain someone elses idea of me so I’m reluctant to accept compliments. I’d rather be complimented on an action rather than personality trait. People are multi dimensional, and although I can be a sociable butterfly and bit of a clown, I can’t be that all the time and I struggle to maintain that image.

This is such a great answer, that's the thing if someone tells me I'm good at something. The first thing that'll pop to my mind is a time when I messed it up. But we're all human and we're not perfect and neither are ever static in our ways. We are a lovely jumble of emotions and traits

I never used to be good accepting complements. I has taken many years . Now i realise its rather nice and so kind of the person to compliment you. That they have taken time its polite to acknowledge and thank them .

On here? Not really, always with a pinch of salt. In person, more likely.

6) Do you still need compliments?

I don’t NEED a compliment. But sometimes when you’ve had a spectacularly bad day, it gives you a pick me up.

"1) by someone I find attractive then yes.

2) I usually return a compliment or turn it into something self detrimental.

3) nah.

I have my ego to protect.

4) Maybe subliminally I do.

I’m not aware of physically seeking it but I think It’d be delusional to say that I don’t.

5) when they are obviously genuine then yes I do.

I certainly don’t believe the majority of the bullshit I get told on fab.

6) I wanna say no but I think if miss having my ego stroked.

Yes.

The answers are very similar but in real life you can tell if a compliment is genuine with the delivery of it and the persons actions. "

Maldon and Peterborough

I try to be complimentary whenever possible

I love to receive compliments too.

I try and stay out of arguments - especially on here - so some people see my continuous positivity as OTT.

I am who i am - i gain friends from it and I've lost friends from it.
