How’s your mental health doing?

With things being a bit all of the place in every aspect of life...how are you doing?

I have a psychology appointment on Monday, and my doctor thinks I’m bipolar (I have bipolar?). My psychology appointment is mostly for my PND but she wants to discuss bipolar as well.

Buuuuut I’m not too bad. Got a migraine, the chronic back and leg pain has been awful, but otherwise my moods have mostly been fine for the last few weeks.

Hope it all goes well, the main thing is that you're on the right path with whatever you may or may not have.

Glad you're getting the right kind of treatment now.

Me I'm actually not too bad ta for asking. I'm back in work which I'm enjoying. Done some looking after myself last few weeks, had some lush conversations with my besties. And dance class has started again

How would I know if I needed help?

A lot of friends say it would help after my drama this year but I'm not sure if I need it or if how I feel is to be expected considering the circumstances.

Oh lord, didn’t know you were in hospital!

So shitty that they’re moving you at that time of night. Whatever’s up, I hope you get better soon. And that you get your cuddles! X

And love to everyone else

I think if you’re questioning ‘do I need help’ then it’s probably time to seek help. I realised when my husband asked if I thought I needed help. It just hit me like a tone of bricks.

I don’t deal with small changes either - last night we were an hour out of our routine and I was an anxious mess, and ended up crying.

I hope things improve for everyone xx

It's not easy no

I have bi-polar

Diagnosed 5 years ago

I live a kinda normal life, yes I take medicine every day but it's manageable

If you want to chat drop me a message

Normally it takes two episodes for a firm diagnosis

Take care

Much hugs

I've had three episodes in the past where because of stress, I've lost days at a time. Wandered around without knowing consciously what I was doing.

So I empathize with anyone suffering mental health issues.

There is no easy answer, I've had CBT which helped and whilst some may think it's a cliche, talking does help.

Hang in their fols you are not alone.

Not the best but better than I was, didn't medicate or talk about stuff for over 20 years but hit breaking point earlier this year and decided I really should take action before I ended myself, now on anti depressants and I talk about things it's helped no end I'm much better and don't get those thoughts anymore

London

As with all humans, I have bad days in reaction to bad situations which then improve when the situation improves.

I struggle sharing my space with a family member who got locked down with me and now he can't get back to his country. Initial lockdown was the worst I'd ever experienced but I knew it would get better.

Trying to find somewhere to howl loudly so nobody could hear was my main focus but I only achieved it once, it had to be held back every day which resulted in almost permanent tremor.

That's gone now, just waiting for sleep to improve, I've got no control over that at the moment. If I weren't moving soon, I'd need medical help but actually I'm ok.

Queen, if you got the bipolar diagnosis, would that be a kind of relief for you? Knowing theres a reason you feel the way you do? Is the prospect scary?

Glad to hear you're getting some support lovely.

I'm very sad over things with a certain someone but I'm throwing myself in to work and exam revision. Both are a very welcome distraction although i fear I could be headed for burn out later on.

To anyone having a hard time right now, I hope you all know that hard times don't define who you are. Xx

In the ground! Iv currently had to go away for a while to try to sort my head out. I go back soon and C is nothing but supportive, but its touch and go at the moment. For those out there in "the boat", stay strong and just know that i light can shine at the end the tunnel!

Mental health issues care quite common place and you need to make sure you’re ok..

I suffered anger issues, depression and anxiety

But after going on tablets and discussing where these problems came from I’m much better now, but the tablets restricted my testosterone levels, and that led to the unveiling of Stella I guess..

Hope your ok

PND sucks, I’ve been there, I hope the psychologist route is a big success for you x

Sending lots of love to everyone, mental health is such an important aspect of our lives. I have blips but tend to self-manage it these days. I’ve really been working on my personal development over the last twelve months - I had to as part of a course I was doing for most of it, but now under my own steam. I don’t think I’d realised how truly miserable I made myself a lot of the time (as opposed to mental health issues with a physical basis). I’ve been lucky to find ways of modifying my thinking to improve things on the whole, anxiety still takes its chances and sneaks up on me regularly though.

Wishing everybody love and strength x

Work is affecting my mental health negatively op, well one particular role of it. I've applied for some other jobs so hopefully make a change soon because I can't for the life of me give up said role even though its not in my job description. Otherwise, everything else is grand

Good morning Your Majesty, I hope all goes well with your appointment today. It is truly a trying time right now especially if you are struggling with mental health.

Mr has had problems with depression and anxiety in the past and I am surprised that being locked down with the kids for months didn’t have more of an affect on his mental health.

Here’s looking forward to brighter times ahead

Covid has actually been good for us as horrible as that sounds. Next on the list is finding new jobs x

Hey OP hope you find answers and a new path to helping or easing things. Im kind of all over the place. Im borderline and its not proving the easiest to maintain an even keel on. But though everyday a struggle to maintain balance I am getting through without meltdowns...but Im going deeper into silence. I work 6 to 7 days a week in silence and its becoming my life to the point Im avoiding yet craving any socialising. I guess it is what it is. Good luck Queenie
