I was born without wisdom teeth thankfully

Sounds like you might benefit from a NSAID

Ibuprofen or Naproxen if you have them

You can also take paracetamol

I had all 4 of mine extracted about 28 years ago. I was in the DRI overnight and just remember waking up the next day with a mouthful of bandages. It's a good job that I like soup, cos that's all I ate for the next few days

cocodamol from the pharmacy and ibuprofen should help, obviously just take according to the instructions and don’t take anything you’re allergic to

You shouldn’t rinse for 24hrs after having a tooth out as it can dislodge the blood clot that will be forming in the cavity that assists healing.

Try to sleep propped up in bed tonight as that will remove the pressure from your face/mouth.

Avoid heavy lifting and any kind of exercise for the next couple of days as that can dislodge the blood clot too.

As others have said...paracetamol is best for pain relief. DO NOT take aspirin.

Cocodamol and avoid at all costs dislodging the clot.

Dry socket is apparently not fun

I had the pleasure of that operation on my 26th birthday!

I was always immune to painkillers, ie it didn't work. However I have had lidocaine and that works a treat. So see your dentist/GP for a prescription. For me nothing else works.

However, if you get tooth ache again, use whole (not oil nor powdered) cloves, dirt cheap, available anywhere and within minutes: your urge to kill people is vanished aka pain and throbbing gone.

Oh no, I feel your pain. I've had that done and it's worse than childbirth. If the pain doesn't ease in a few days please go back to your dentist as there's a condition called dry socket which you can get when the wound doesn't heal properly and it's excruciating. I take paracetamol and ibuprofen to help keep on top of the pain, as in 2 paracetamol then 2 ibuprofen 2 hours later and so on. Careful not to take too many though.

Hope your pain eases very soon.

A doctor recently told me she takes paracetemol with ibuprofen - one pill of each, say. It seemed to work well for me.

How is it this morning OP?

Call your surgery if not improving, you may have an infection... Are you following their advice on gargling etc?

Hope you feel better x
