Another forum member made a comment a few days ago and its had me thinking ever since really..

the comment was along the lines of 'id fuck someone in a club because i found them attractive, id never ask their age, so why do i have to display my age on here'

I have set mine (i think) to roughly 30-45 but i could be excluding some incredible people.

If i were to be headless id imagine people would look at my body and see me as a 50/60 yr old woman.. on the other side i have seen some ladies and gents with phenomenal physiques that would rival people in their 20's.

So my question is.. If you were just being 'judged' on your body,, would you think people would age you younger or older??

And why not, she likes to meet people for sex, full of life so enjoy yourself.

I'm really not sure, I guess around my actual age...not too bad, but gravity is certainly starting to take hold

I do find people of very varied ages attractive physically, but I have my filters set to around my age because I feel like they are the people that I would have the most in common with...I'm not looking for "just sex", so that's an important factor for me

I'm told my body doesn't match my age and I feel it's in pretty good shape.

I indicate an age range, to give an idea of comparable sorts but I don't filter by age because there are always exceptions to the rule.

People are constantly surprised when informed of my (male half's) age. I'm sure it's actually put a few off when they find out but it's really just a number at the end of the day.

There's a large age gap in our relationship but I'm not with my girlfriend just for that. In fact she's actually far more mature and well balanced than many women I've met of my own age.

A connection is a connection and attraction is not something you can choose. Stay safe, consensual and legal and enjoy the times when you meet people you click with. If someone writes you off because of a number they're probably not worth bothering with anyway.

St Austell-ish

I have a preferred age range of "younger" solely because I've found that "older" men tend to have more of a Been There, Done That outlook on life.

When I set filters, I found I got a lot of messages from guys lying about their age anyway to just fit in, so I took off filters and go by how they talk.

Yes, filters cut out a lot of people, but if you have a preference, so it goes.

It is but a number, but it's important that the number is above legal age...

That aside, rather than age I prefer to go with people purely on a connection basis. But do I look my age? I don't actually know... probably... but I've been losing weight and that brings with it a few sags and bags... not that I was ever in any way hot. I appeal more to those who require something more than a visual dopamine hit. fortunately for me there a re a few ladies like that here, and one in particular is making me smile a lot right now!

"

Usually the response is younger

I'm done with much younger men. Nothing below 42 as I always regret it!

I don't know if its good genes,or bad liars but most people assume im in my late 30's or early 40's...its frustrating when I see a couple or a single that I would like to chat with but they only go as high as 45..oh well...cant even have a chat because of the age difference of 2 years...

Becky looks 10 years younger than she actually is.

I get my age mistaken regularly but have been bald since 21 so haven’t changed much.

Try to look after ourselves as much as possible.

Turning 50 does seem to have had an effect on message we receive.

I look my age because that's the age I am. That's how old my body looks.

I agree haha.

You hardly ever see anyone come out and say “Well I’ve been told I look older and I do”

Everyone likes to flatter themselves and believe the compliments they want to believe. Most people don’t look younger than they are, they tend to look their age or older. "

It's hardly flattering myself that I looked like an actual child well into my 20s

Anyone who's met me says at least 5-7 yes younger. Had to produce my driving licence for one person as proof.

Younger about 20-30 years younger. A resent test I had came up with a biological body age of nearly 30 years younger. I have great genes

Not sure to be honest.

In my twenties I was way slimmer than what I am now so to me my body does reflect my age.

Slimmer does not always equal younger. You look like you have an incredible body, and I would have placed you younger

Comparing me to other men my age, I've stayed fairly slim since my teens so I'd probably be rated slightly younger (or I'd like to think so!)

My face looks younger but my body looks older than 30’s. Years of weight gain and loss along with changing levels of exercise due to long term injuries have taken their toll.

I’ve opened my age ranges (filters) after finding myself attracted to those outside of them recently. I’ve definitely become more open and find i’m more attracted to people than just the surface.

Unfornutately I think you're both right! If I'm asked how old I think someone is I guess in my mind what I think then take some years off to be polite, flattering! I'm sure others do this too? Best to never ask! "

Haha, exactly!

I’m yet to come across anyone who admits someone looks older than they are to their face!

The thing is perception of age is different for everyone, someone 25 might be someone’s 33, so it’s never going to be accurate.

If someone says “How old do I look” like you I deliberately shave a few years off to save the offended face!

I think just on body I'd get aged in the right ball park.

Going by face people used to age me 5-8 years younger in my 20s/30s. The 'best' one was being asked to provide proof of age buying cigarettes when it was legal to buy them at 16 - I was 25 at the time (although I was freshly clean shaven that day).

I've always said age is just a number I understand people have got their own issues with people's ages because they may have a son around that age or they may have a daughter around the age but some people just passed that bye wife too short if you like someone go for it don't waste it

Intresting question OP, we have seen someone on fab or out of fab who are not in our age range. Plus when we meet people like socials nights, it gives us a different perception of the individual. Hence we're more likely to be attracted to them.

Regardless to whether I look older or younger, it’s so true that people could miss out and that one connection we (some of us) are looking for just cos we/ they are judged by a number. It isn’t the best way forward.

Just my opinion.

But isn’t that someone’s right?

I don’t want to meet a 79 year old man, surely it’s my right to deny all 79 year olds of gaining a connection with me?

Everyone has preferences whether it be age, race, height, dress size or humour. Everyone should be entitled to them.

I don’t think I’ve ever come across someone who gives every single person who gives them attention a chance, that would be sort of desperate to just not have any standard.

Yes you are very correct. I was kinda aiming it at where you may miss a connection based on being a year or two out. Not when the difference is generations.

I have an age preference and there will be those who are a year or two out, but that’s life.

Not everyone you want will want you, pointless to dwell on it or focus your attention on those who aren’t interested in you. We walk past people everyday who we may have a connection with, but again, that’s life, you’ll never know.

I struggle with ages, especially guys. Just looking at my groups of mates, age range from 30-52, some of the younger ones look older than the older ones in the group and vice versa.

I messed up a couple of years ago, celebrating one of their big birthdays.... I bought a 40th birthday card and walked into a room decorated with 30 everywhere, they saw the funny side and put it down to their lack of hair on the bonnet

Age is only a number on all counts. I’ve met people older who act immature and younger people with an old head on their shoulders. That’s just life! For me it’s more about the person not age.... saying that I wouldn’t meet anyone younger than my eldest (22) as it just wouldn’t feel right, that’s just my personal preference though!

I’ve pretty much lacked hair since I was 25.

With the age thing I think “Why don’t you grow up” or “Why don’t you act your age” are quite offensive comments really, we are all different, like different things & for some maybe like me what I liked to do when I was 20 is still what I like to do at 58.

To me looking younger is one thing, living younger is another, most of our social friends are younger than H & my age is only apparent in conversation if I mention something from before they were born.

We do shy away from others of my age unless they have a common interest (motorcycles usually) as they usually have a differing outlook, have had the kids grow up, leave home & have kids themselves while over here our youngest is 8! I don’t suppose there are that many households of someone approaching 60 who’s house reverberates to K-pop, Manga movies or the music of Professor Elemental on a daily basis ??

But it is what it is, on here you are your age & that’s the end of it, Line drawn, do not cross it. probably why so many (male & female) lie about it.

S
