Ghosting

Have you had it happen? Have you done it?

Is it an acceptable way to cease communicating or is it the height of bad manners?

I cant say we'd never ghost, I can see where we might feel it was necessary but I think it would be in response to something specific. If we don't want to chat any more we just... dont. Don't bother with blocking unless someone really is being a knob.

Just being nosy really...

I had friends at my old club, the owners in particular...

3 years of seeing them every weekend, sometimes going out to the casino for a night out or a special occasion birthday event etc.

Once the club closed, so did their friendship... seems they only wanted me for my money at the end of the day

Ghosted for over a year now... it still hurts at times, but I've learned my life lesson

I've been ghosted on here and in 'real life'.

I'd prefer if the person just told me that they no longer wished to keep in contact and even better if they say why, as opposed to just ignoring you. Seems a bit childish.

That being said, I have ghosted one person who refused to accept that I no longer wished to remain friends, or even know them, after the way they behaved and treated me. In those circumstances, I think it's justified.

I've been ghosted by someone off here

The only thing I can think I'd that I was too keen, or said something that was somehow inappropriate

I was ghosted by someone I was seeing and that was harsh as I was worried something happened to him. On here conversations fizzle out so I wouldn’t call them ghosting as such

It doesn't bother us in the sense that we think we're so awesome you just have to chat (although we are, obvs) but I hate the not knowing. One minute you're all chatting away, next minute "you cannot contact this user" WTF??

Humans are weird... I wish i understood them.

Well, we all get it now and then and I've had it and done it.

Worst one I had was years ago. I got married in my early 20's and after 18 months she just never came home and did not reply to any of my messages. To this day not seen her again. Still don't know why. Just heard through the grapevine she decided she can't cope with being married to a sportsman like me at the time as I was semi professional
