...in America is serious, it's killed 13 people so far and storms are causing chaos.

Think it will hit here?

I worked with this American guy once and he told me about one of the worst heatwaves to hit the southern states back in the eighties..it was that hot, lots of people died in the heatwave and the streets were deserted........except for the British tourists walking around the streets in their union jack shorts and their tops off...never a more true saying than mad dogs and Englishmen.

The Town by The Cross

Global warming doesn't mean everywhere will be hot.

If it's hot it doesn't mean it's due to global warming.

The heatwave in America is linked to the wet weather here.

There has not been the usual shift in the Gulf .... it's remaining pretty static and so either side is stuck in a cycle for the time being.

If it shifts soon .....who knows? Maybe we will get an Indian Summer again.

Maybe the Atlantic Canyon will be reality soon..

I read some time ago that the global warming that was predicted will actually level the weather out in this country, so we'll loose our extremes of season, rather making our weather a bit 'same' all year round. Sounds a naff prospect to me.
