They make me walk like Pingu

I like the white leather ones, my mum doesn't think they're really converse. They take a while to break in, causing blisters but then they are the shoes I live in, super comfy

I've never owned a pair of converse. I do have what we used to call baseball boots which I can walk in except they rub my ankle a bit.

Now I sound like an old lady trying to join in the youngsters conversation .

"Trendy dad" is a good look.

I'm currently rocking the "don't give a flying banana look " . A friend once described me as being "daring" with my clothes. Still no idea what she meant.

My first pair of baseball boots were Converse back in the 80s Also had a pair of white leather ones with a strap that went round the ankle (can't remember if they were Converse).

I agree. I didn't mean to imply there was an age limit on wearing them. More that I was using outdated terminology to describe them

Started wearing them after my mum had bought me an awful pair of shoes and my sister suggested I try something called a 'baseball boot'. I was about 11 and have been wearing some sort of boot ever since.

Yes your right, two different things,a hot bod older guy in a football shirt, opposed to a larger maybe obese older guy wearing one,the question i was trying to ask is,is there an age limit to wearing some type's of clothing,of course anybody can wear anything they want,no problem with that, but are certain items of clothing only meant for a younger generation? Have i opened up a can of worms?

You haven't opened a can of worms but it is interesting how certain clothes are deemed age appropriate. In general society frowns on older women wearing certain clothes, the term "mutton dressed as lamb" was coined especially for that purpose. Also people will smirk at an older man who dresses in teenager's clothes. God knows why, it's only cloth stitched together. Don't even get me started on older women wearing bikinis or mini skirts because apparently showing aging skin is not right

I think people should wear what they please

i have various pairs of hightops, some with two lots of laces on them(patterned and coloured) ,some are battered and some pristine...also have some star pattern flats.

my favourite teen baiting endeavour (they still complain as adults!) was to wear one colour on one foot and another on the other!

i also had a pair of converse style calf length boots that i wear with my kilt but they have disintegrated over the years and it is impossible to find a new pairlike them
