Hi all, it’s hard for me to write this as yesterday I found out i have a 50% chance of possible having a brain degenerative condition. They think my mum has this condition. Obviously that is a shock to not only mum but for me. We are still waiting for confirmation as mum has to have a blood test to confirm for sure but the doctors are pretty sure

Kind of trying to put a brave face on it but worried sick

So sorry to hear this. Keeping everything crossed for you and your Mum

I can't say how you feel and I won't pretend too but I do understand.

I was diagnosed with a heart condition a few years ago, Dr's tell me it is genetic, my Dad had the same and died suddenly at 50.

Only just seeing a cardiologist because he said I was too young to have it.

Dr's say it won't happen to me but who knows what will happen. The future seems scary but just getting on with life

Just take care of yourself xx

That's awful to hear, you can help your chances better try omega 3 oils or any brain foods CBD oils are also good look into it do your research and see what's what I hope this helps and all the best

Are you having a test for confirmation as well or just your mum? The hospital should be able to point you into family charity's that have support groups for the condition of a positive result occurs.

Fingers crossed for you x

Sorry to hear this OP. I can understand how worrying and scary this must be.

Hoping the tests give you the results you want, for you and your mum.

Hug of support to you.

Ah buddy so sorry to hear this... Take a few days to let it sink in and then start to gather your thoughts and make sure to talk to whatever support team is offered... Good luck

Thank you for all kind words

For me i am determined to find the history of our family as it is a hereditory condition

So we think my grandad had it, but we are not sure who had it further back
