Inconsistant site rules!

Apologies in advance as I do not wish to ruffle any feathers however there are rumblings of how the rules are applied to who gets on the one page of of the hotlist which may not be fair to all for example you are not allowed to mention tw..ter or any other social media platform otherwise you get blocked this seems to be applied selectively .....I just wonder if anyone else has experienced this or knowledge of it .

It’s not our ball so not our rules but no one is I hope forced to play.

I never used to follow the rules but now I try my best to and I think they work.

I'm sure it's all done fairly and, at the end of the day, is it really worth worrying about? You could always message Admin if it's bothering you Op.

If you think a profile is breaking the rules, report it to admin.

I'm fairly sure you won't get into trouble for "mentioning" twitter, Facebook or other social media sites. You might for posting links for your profile on these sites, as firstly no validation that you're actually the owner of said profile... but also because fab can not play any part in protecting their members once they're off the site.

Sounds like first world problems tbh.

You’re a 46 year old man and you’re worried about who gets onto the first page of fabbed photos?

You are correct its a first world prooblem but perhaps the issue is wider ie its about fairness for all to be treated evenhandedly...I am just asking the question !

Over the Rainbow

Strange that it's consider a first world problem that all members are treated equally. The rules on Fab are opaque and the interpretation of them is inconsistent.

Ultimately as someone above said you can vote with your feet as several of my friends have done already.

That is a shame and sad for people to leave because of this

I'm not sure how the rules concerning Twitter or any other social media platform can impact on hot pics unless people are promising content on other platforms in exchange for fabs.

If anyone believes the rules have been applied inconsistently to them personally they should query it with admin.

Also for info

Here is an explanation from Admin from another thread on how they deal with reports.

******Just a quick note. If people report others and we can verify that they have broken site rules, we always take action (either a first and final warning, partially suspended account, fully suspended, mixture of the above).

Every single report sent via the REPORT link is reviewed. Clearly it's not in our interests to have people on here who are bad for the site. Equally we need to verify what has been reported and be fair to those who have been reported.

Admin

PS. we never provide feedback on what has happened. It's just not practical given that we get 100s of reports a day.

Here is what the page says after a report has been submitted:

--

Your feedback has been saved.

A website admin will shortly review your feedback and take the necessary action. After reviewing the evidence available to us, we may disable an account, remove a user, disable certain aspects of that user's account or issue a warning.

By leaving feedback you help improve the site for everyone who uses it. Thank you.******
