I don’t think the government can control the night where the veil separating our world from the spirit world is at its thinnest. The dead will still walk amongst us freely on that day/night.

Or, as it's also known, The House Of Lords

I hope not as children need something to look forward to and it can be done safely! I personally am not bothered, but in the past have had great parties. It's the wee ones I would feel sad for. How they going to stop people anyway?

Probably not good publicity to cancel an occasion where full masks are encouraged.

Halloween can't be cancelled any more than Christmas can.

It'll happen whether we do anything for it or not.

Yep.

We might have to adapt the way we celebrate which I'm happy to do. What's the saying "adapt to survive"?

It's sense, cut down on big parties and social get togethers. People will undoubtedly ignore the guidance anyway though, and then those same people will be crying bloody murder when the lockdown measures get extended.

Perhaps they will be forced to observe the spirit of the law?

Our area have already began to stock sweets and chocolate for the kids of the area from locals to be distributed “in a safe manner” not entirely sure what that entails but the effort is being made to work with the guidelines and still deliver Halloween

Yep and blaming every man and his dog for restrictions.

Like it or not we have restrictions in place. We can't ask everyone else to abide by them but want exceptions to apply to us individually for certain celebrations

Absolutely! Games at home, let's all help get over this and get Uncle Joe back in his job and make it so we don't have to wear these icky masks anymore. You, Junior, have the power to make a difference and help people. Let's watch a film.

Halloween wasn't a thing when I was a kid anyway so I'm probably less bothered than younger people might be.

Every year I decorate my house for the trick or treaters, sadly I won't this year, and as a parent I wouldn't want my kids knocking on strangers doors at the moment,

I use to love trick or treating as a kid,

They should never of let boot markets to open,

Next year? If you look at the Conservative benches in the House of Commons they can already be observed roaming quite freely and unencumbered!

My suggestion is to put pictures of pumkins up in the windows, much like the raibows we did in the Spring, then go on a neighbourhood hunt to see how many you can find, getting a treat from their parent dropped into their bucket for each one they spot.

They might put a ban on door to trick or treat. All ringing bells and knocking on doors that each other have touched. Collecting sweets others have touched the packets of. And under 11 don't have to wear masks, so could spread by breath.

Isn't it an American thing.

Suppose now we'll have to learn the American terminology for trick or treaters....

"Go away you mother ......." etc.

God bless America
