Damn who knew eggs were so lethal.

Yeah it got my other eyelid a tiny bit too. Thankfully I closed my eyes just in time or else I would have definitely burned them

I feel your pain, I did this as a teenager, nearly blinded myself.

"I microwave scrambled eggs"

I’ve just talked a friend through this on the phone as she’d never made scrambled eggs before

"I microwave scrambled eggs"

This...add salt, pepper and a little milk to a couple of cracked open eggs in bowl. Mico for about 1 minute + 20 to 30 seconds.

You can purchase special plastic containers with lids on so the eggs don't egg-plode.

Fill your kettle with cooking oil and deep fry them in that

A town near you perhaps

I have a container that you can cook eggs in the microwave. They come out really well, just like poached eggs.

Unpierced chicken breasts with that membrane they have can be very explosive too, luckily it missed me but I found a bit stuck on the wall on the other side of the kitchen! Xx

This makes fluffy nice scrambled eggs

I do it in 15 second bursts with a quick whisk each time to really get the fluffy scrambled egg effect. Brilliant results.

I have used them, a couple of times the eggs have exploded in them and the lids have flown off with some force. I always pierced the egg yolks too. X

All you need to do is pierce the egg yolk and they won't explode.

Rochester, Kent

I would never have even tried microwaving an egg. Seems obvious to me.

But having said that, I microwaved a carton of custard once. Who knew they were foil-lined cartons!! (Clearly I didn’t).

The microwave lit up like the Northern Lights

Feel slightly better knowing how many of you have also had this happen lol, although my eye still fucking hurts like hell

To all of those offering recipes: nope. Never going near a microwave with eggs again

Eggs stink in the microwave and go rubbery.

About 20 seconds. I'd boiled some eggs but when I cracked them open they were all runny inside (even though I've boiled eggs literally hundreds of times and have never undercooked them), so I thought I'd quickly finish them off in the microwave as I'd opened them and couldn't put them back in the water. I've done scrambled eggs in the microwave loads of times so thought I'd be alright, especially as I'd removed most of the shells. Zapped them for about 20 seconds, opened the door to check and bang!

My friend admitted to me that he used a hotel kettle once to boil an egg... Needless to say it was a disaster... And he didn't tell the hotel staff

I tried to boil an egg in a kettle after watching a life hack thing on YouTube

I needed a new kettle.

Yeah, that was pretty much his conclusion... Everytime he boiled water it tasted of egg
