If you think you're doing something that sabotages relationships you wanted to continue then sure, make changes. However, it's also entirely possible that it was just a case of incompatibility and that isn't necessarily a failure on either side. It's also entirely possible to find someone you're incredibly compatible with but for you to grow and change as people over time and come to a point where you aren't compatible anymore. There isn't really anything wrong with having many relationships, as long as you're not damaging people in the process and it's not making you miserable.
