An eater, feeder, or both?

Much as I enjoy eating, i've recently discovered I enjoy cooking for others. Seeing them wipe their plate clean and ask for more gives me satisfaction, so in my case both

Over to you.

I’m firmly in the eater category.

My wife loves to feed so we’re perfectly in tune.

In a ball gown because that's how we roll in N. Devon

I actively dislike eating and have a lot of issues surrounding it.

However, I love cooking and especially baking, and when I'm in the zone I tend to bake way too much.

So I have solved my problem by baking for the lifeboat crew and for a few of the local care homes. Means I get to indulge my baking and they get to enjoy the results.

I hear ya _hillout. I think I am both. I prefer being an eater when it is someone else who is kindly doing the cooking for me. And I turn into a feeder when it is my turn to prep the food. I like watching someone enjoy the fruits of my labours. Especially if it is a recipe or dish they haven't tried before. Very satisfying when I get asked for the recipe or on cookery tips!

Over to you."

I enjoy cooking for others though seldom have the time to do proper justice to the job. When it's only for myself i more often treat it as just fuel. I do like to eat good food, but it sort of feels like unjustified spending that effort on myself.

I am such a feeder and love having people over for lunch or dinner. It gives me such pleasure to cook for them and I find it also feeds my soul when I do it.

I've catered for birthdays, christenings and parties, from my own kitchen.

To add to that I also make a cracking breakfast...

I prefer cooking for others - clearly I love eating but if others cook for me I always want to help/step in which makes me a bit of a nightmare. I love seeing someone's face light up the first time they taste something I've cooked/baked for them; it gives me a lot of happy butterflies and I feel oddly proud of myself in a sort of "you go Meli coco" way.

I like to think of cooking as one of my love languages.

On a mooch

I cook as a necessity now, my lad just sees food as something he has to eat to grow, occasionally he’ll offer ‘that was great’ or ‘best yet’. However he is learning to experiment, so new foods for me & him to learn to cook.... which can be hit and miss haha

I used to love cooking and trying new things, but that went by the by when you have someone who won’t even talk about new foods or before they’ve even tasted something smother it in salt and pepper or the worst ketchup that does make you think why bother with the effort.

One day I’ll find my love for it again
