?

I was never allowed to do it as a kid "because it's begging".

These days it's lights out in the front room and leave the dog in there to bark at them

I'd suggest a Halloween Hideout get together but I think that might break some rules

Why do the government need to say anything? Kids shouldn't be trick or treating this year.

Some people are putting out pumpkins for kids to walk past and spot. Like they did with teddy bears in windows in Lockdown.

Similar to us... strictly speaking ... pumpkin lantern means you're up for it ... otherwise, jog on to the next house

Just another Americanism that found its way here

I'm not allowed to meet anyone inside. Manchester is plague ridden

Parents should have enough about them not to let their kids out at the moment. I’ll make a few mini hampers up for the kids on our street and drop them off - they are used to me baking for them. My son was never allowed to trick or treat and neither was I.

You could put it out the week before for people to admire. Then bring it inside/ bin it on the 30th so it doesn't attract any small elves and witches.
