We think most of us can only plan something with others next year now.

Tough one isn't it.

It's good to have something to look forward to, yet at the same time it can lead to more stress and frustration when those plans don't come to fruition for whatever reason, especially those out of our own control.

Only plan I'm making is to not bother making plans and roll with the flow of work n sleep

Be a good girl, Posh, we'll sort out your Fab wardrobe fund another way. There's so much need and a very limited pool of resources for helping people.

Agreed.

In the meantime, I'm doing everything I possibly can to help myself. Reduce the final burden, hopefully speed up treatment/ vaccines.

.

I know some are planning things for before then but I think, as difficult as it is, waiting until March (at the earliest is sensible). I'm disappointed socials won't be going ahead for some time but such is life. I'll just have to social at socials with a vengeance once I can.

I think that planning on a big scale needs to wait. Next year, even the year after. Whenever. We need to wait until the world is settled better. That might mean vaccine, that might mean randomly covid has poofed into thin air (I'm having the dream and won't listen to any of the pesky logic on that one).

But I think also private plans can be made for sooner. If you find someone you trust and who trusts you there is no reason that a bubble buddy has to be someone you've met prior to all this.

As long as people are sensible and careful, and don't take risks with the health of those around them, relationships can still begin even through this time. They'll just start slower than they used to.

Humans need humans. I think there will likely be strong relationships that come out of this situation, where people have spent a lot of time connecting in ways other than sexually before getting down and dirty. I also think there will be a lot of relationships end and a lot of them that are reassessed, but as a single person obviously I'm looking at it from my angle more.

Just a thought. Sorry for the length.

We've definitely got to find a way to assess the risk to ourselves and those around us, as compared to our other needs. It's certainly something I'm confronting hard with my community work at the moment.

I don't know what the answer is. I wish I did. Personally I'm bloody resilient so a year or more of celibacy won't do me any harm (I won't like it, but...). Everyone has different needs, of course. Which isn't to say that people should do whatever they like - they need to weigh up the potential harm of their coping mechanisms, and, if it's too much, then seek out professional assistance for their mental health.

I guess - ha - I'm extremely fortunate in that, psychologically, this isn't my first, second, or twelfth fucking rodeo.

Pandemic - anxiety - flashbacks - depression - helplessness. *swing rolls sleeves up* OK fucker. Bring it.
