To be honest never fancied it, then the other day I had an authentic Vesta Chow Mein and I have to say I really enjoyed it, might have to visit my local takeaway if it all tastes like that

I grew up on highly bastardised Chinese and Italian, and still make it myself

Chinese food is excellent! If you like a bit of spice, Szechuan Chicken is great, and ditto Singapore Chow Mein is a great spicy dish from our local Chinese.

Also, any type of Fried Rice dish.

I'm not a fussy eater at all and have eaten ALL the foods ( clearly )

But Chinese tates nice whilst I'm eating it - but then it makes me feel unwell - it's so bad for you

What you had and what you get in U.K. Chinese takeaways is not real Chinese food..

You need to go to China to experience real Chinese food

Beef blood soup

Yellow bean curd

Chicken feet

Hot pot

Sea slugs

Ah OP if you order chow mein from the Chinese thinking it will be like the Vesta version you will be disappointed as they are totally different.

Then again you might find you like it more

Not in our local Chinese/chippy. We don't have it often, but it's all cooked to order, very fresh and delicious. No MSG in sight.

Dry ingredients that you bring to boil... always had one in the cupboard when I left home, in case of cooking disasters

They advertise that they don't cook with it and the food isn't gloopy or over salty like you get with MSG. It's a chippy/takeaway run by a Malaysian ethnic Chinese family, so they do a lot of Malay dishes too
