I used to love buttercream. Until I started baking and learnt how to make it, now it turns my stomach a bit knowing how much butter I'm eating. So I tend to scrape some off.

I agree with you OP, it's too messy and crumbly and time consuming to make and some ppl are rubbish at making it and bring it to work and force you to eat raw cake mix with burnt edges....

Unless cake really is code for anal and then I adore "cake".....

I would never make a cake for anyone I wouldn’t eat ! And I don’t think I’ve baked a raw cake since I was prob ten !

I sometimes get my timings wrong on brownies so they slightly very gooey but I eat them !

I take pride in my baking and cakes !
