Anyone use any dating sites other than the tindr & plenty of fish? If so how successful are they, as much as I am enjoying my time on here, I want to meet someone for a relationship.

I went on POF but got messaged by men who were on here so I gave up.

If you have charm and Charisma, with rugged good looks then they are incredibly successful, if however you drive a Datson Sunny and view things with a slight Indifference and Cynicism, then they can be a struggle. Hope this helps X

Most dating sites are a con they say free but then you cant read or send messages unless you pay,or full of married men or men after one night stands.....think im too old for dating sites now

And women, a point raised twice in this thread already

I joined Ok Cupid for couples but found it really poor. Haven't tried Tinder. I must be the only bloke in the world not on it.

the abyss

I keep thinking of joining a dating site again as I would like to find a relationship too. But to be honest I never really had much success of them as most guys in my age bracket are wanting to play the field or have babies. No one like me just content to have a longterm snuggle buddy and travel partner

I've been on them all at various points over the years.

It's never been much fun.

I think A, I must look really bad as get no messages.

B, the people who do seem to get in touch are incredibly dull

C, I'm in no man's land. At 37 men my age often fall into 3 categories married and playing away, the type I really wouldn't be attracted to or just couldn't cope with me or they want a cougar or some Instagram ideal.

This is what I’m looking for too!

Before POF/FAB, singles clubs were quite good for meeting people, though it’s been a few years since I ventured into one!

I think men my age on dating sites are looking for lithe single hotties who look like they just stepped off Love Island.

Whereas I look like I’ve just spent 5 years on a Desert Island talking to a basketball.

We met on Bumble so would think that’s worth a try. I’ve also had longish relationships from pof but it does take some dredging through to get past the ones who only want sex

The same people are on them all.

Tinder, POF, Fab and even Match when I was having a wobble a few years back and thought I wanted a relationship.

Dating always felt awkward to me - Im more comfortable with Fab

You have to make dating your full time job and really want it.

Currently using pof which so far is garbage but have used match before and that has been the most successful for finding a relationship however it is pretty expensive and you MUST turn off auto renew as they will not refund if you forget. Sadly though i think in the current climate dating pretty much is not happening which sucks massively and only exacerbates the issues us singletons experience.

Totally agree with this. You have to put a lot of time and effort in, and I find it a bit slow and frustrating at times. I like bumble and Hitch if that’s any help

OK Cupid seemed really good with all the compatibility tests. I had to come off it because my ex was on there. I can't date anyone because he would make my life even more difficult. We split up 9 years ago.

Hinge is the best dating app in the world. It's fair, genuine and has better people on it than Tinder and OK Cupid.

Generally find the same people on all the apps. So none are particularly better.

However, Tinder gets no replies or mostly matches from people in Philippines or Brazil , hinge shows no one interesting, bumble puts the onus on the women to make an effort (huzzah), and PoF app is just rubbish as messages all disappear after a few days.

Ironically, Fab seems most promising, but the guys need to stop pestering the women

"Is it time for a ‘dating’ option in the interests section?"

Second that.

I'm on POF, looking for a relationship.

I'm on Ok Cupid , looking for a relationship

I'm on tinder, looking for a hook-up

I'm on here, to meet couples, ladies etc, for honest and open fun.

Wouldn't complain if a POF date turned into a ONS.

My good friend married his random tinder hook-up.

I don't care how I make the connection with someone, if it's made.

Problems are always.

Empty profiles.

Heavily filtered pics.

Unrealistic expectations.

Our first date is unlikely to be "walk along a beach" (I live near Birmingham)

Do a dating thread.

There's often dating threads and many people are looking to date. Many successful love stories of people meeting on here.

And for us guys so many women say they want a decent honest guy, complain about the types you mention then proceed to ignore those who are honest because they don't look like Tom Hardy.

That's not me having a dig or being combative by the way, just saying there are lies and falsehoods on both sides of the dating table.

From previous experience, I’d say on the whole it’s easier to start on a swinging/hookup site and work towards a relationship than the other way around.......

I’m honest as to what I want. And honest as to whether I’m attracted. You either are or your not someone’s type... I’m actually happy single, but open not to be for the right person. What I’m saying is don’t pretend to be open for something your not.
