National Police Memorial Day

This Sunday 27th September is National Police Memorial Day.

It is an opportunity to pay tribute to those Officers who gave their lives in the line of duty. It is perhaps more poignant this year following the murder of Police Sergeant Matt Ratana at Croydon Police Station during the early hours of this morning.

As mentioned by Rav Wilding on the BBC’s One Show, at 8 pm on Sunday you are invited to stand at your front door and shine a light in remembrance of those officers; a torch, a mobile phone, a candle or whatever you fancy, and perhaps raise a glass.

It is also the opportunity to show your support for our ‘Thin Blue Line’ who habitually seem to be under the cosh of the National media. The Media seem blind to the great work undertaken by our Police Service on a daily basis, instead choosing to undermine and criticise at every opportunity.

Let’s show our support. See you at 8 pm Sunday!

I'm not sure if the media undermine the police.

Quite the opposite.

This was a cut and paste post. But there has been a fair bit of police bashing, especially of late.

Sorry probably shouldn't have interjected but I've seen the press back the police up a lit of times.
