I had mine on a couple of times in August...it’s about the temperature where you are and how cold you are not what month it is. I’m all toasty warm here, heating has been on most of the day

I’ve still got a giant fan on, I find the noise comforting, also still in shorts and t shirt.

Anytime you feel cold, whether middle of summer or middle of winter, heating is versatile these days not like the old coal fires

When it is sensible to stop pipes freezing.

When the people there would find it more comfortable.

Just find your most comfortable temp and set the thermostat to that. That way you won't feel too warm or too hot. Also less messing with the control!

If it’s cold I put the fire on, a blanket on, slipper socks, on, a cardigan on.

If my mum is cold she puts the heating on. That’s how it goes in this house.

Hull

In the hotel I work at, the heating went on three days ago to warm the place up.

The property is 303 years old, built in part with Sandstone blocks, thus the outside temperature matches that inside the building. Add in that due to Grade 2 Status and local regulations, we cannot replace the Sash windows in many rooms, nor can we install Air-Con units at all in the premises.

Thus, we tend to have heating on sooner than modern homes; equally in hot weather, it's a battle to keep rooms cool.

"Mines on and off often doesn't matter the time of year. If it's chilly it's on."

^^This^^ Since having a new boiler back in February we have British Gas Hive.

You just set the thermostat to different temperatures throughout the day and if it drops below the particular temperature it comes on.
