"Go to a shop that offers a measuring service " Some of them are crap though. Bravissimo do decent fit training and will fit you in each bra if you want as different brands and styles can fit differently.

"Go to a shop that offers a measuring service Some of them are crap though. Bravissimo do decent fit training and will fit you in each bra if you want as different brands and styles can fit differently. " Definitely, all shops measure me differently. I can't get a bra in M&S to fit at all.

"I find curvy Kate styles to be a strange fit. I think you’re best off going to a shop for fitting Leia/Bravissimo/other independents. They will give you a size but also suggest a style that works best for body shape. This will help to limit mistakes when buying underwear online although styles and sizes vary massively. Mrs SW" She peeped over my shoulder and nodded I will save myself the pain next time and give her the pocket money

I can't get a bra in M&S to fit at all. " We had to do an experiment when I was at uni where we got measured by loads of different shops and the results were shocking. Apparently M&S try to make their bras less rigidly sized so they fit more people but in my opinion they just fit more people badly rather than fitting many people well.

M&S have some specialist fitters that are decent but the general store staff often aren't great and their bras are weird anyway so even if the fitter is good you're being fitted using weird bras that seem to fit differently to those from anywhere else. Ann Summers and Victoria secret on the other hand fit me as a 34DD when I'm a 30G .

"Also I'd agree with whoever said if the username is your bra size, then it's not the right one. Your outward projection is way more than 5ins compared to your band measurement looking at the pics. You almost certainly need to go down a couple band sizes and up many cup sizes. Your band measurement is generally your dress size +10 or maybe +12 at a push. I wear a 36G for example and am dress size 16." I disagree on any direct correlation between band size and dress size. I'm a 12/14 and sometimes need a 28 band size. Obviously as you gain weight you accumulate fat around the midsection but there's also a big variation in ribcage size which is not weight dependent.

It's just because M&S measured them at 34" then added stupid numbers for no reason.

To be honest I don't think there's an exact science to it with measuring (hence why bravissimo don't use tape measures). If you're very slim or don't carry much fat around the ribs then plus 4 may work for you. I mostly wear a 30 underband so that's plus 3 for me. In some brands I need a 28 so that's plus 1. If you carry more weight around the ribs you'll have more give (sorry can't think of a more flattering way to say it ) so might buy an underband with the same measurement as your underbust. Also the longer your bra wings, the more stretchy part to your bra. Having a big bust and a litle back, my bra wings are only about 15cm long . You basically want it to be as tight as possible without being painful.

"How do you measure different sized hanging boobs for a bra?" Fit to the bigger boob. Once you've found the right band size you would be better trying on different cup sizes until you find the right fit. The wires should sit off any breast tissue and you shouldn't get any double boob going on. You might get some gaping on the smaller boob though but try different styles as some might work better for you. Put it on leaning forward to fully scoop all the breast tissue into the cup and the wires should sit to where your breast attatches to your body underneath them which can take some adjusting for some women.

"It's really more about getting a rough idea and knowing how a bra should fit. You will also find that some styles will never fit properly. A general rule is that your breasts should fill the cup without spilling over and the bra should sit on your chest between the cups. Remember that the strap should also be straight across at the back. I was a 34F in most good brands but having put on a bit of weight, a 36F seems to be the best fit now." As a lady with large squishy boobs, I find non padded bras from the likes of Fantasie fit well.

"How do you busty girls Get your bra size correct fitting I'm sure I'm not wearing correct one sue" If your name is your bra size, going by your photos, you are definitely wearing the wrong size. I would probably start with a 36G or 38G and take it from there.

"There a group on Facebook (helpfully I forget it's name now) that explains how most women are wearing the wrong size and how cup sizes work. I went from a 42dd to a 38g using their measuring. Gonna go find it " If its the one I know its called boob or bust if this helps at all. xT

Yeah probably the company's being lazy and not adjusting the sewing pattern for having two layers of fabric compared to a bra! The elastics get folded over between the fabrics too so have two layers either side. All adds up to make it less stretchy.

"Google Boob or bust and do your measurements with them . Do not get measured at m&s, Victoria secret or Ann summers that are all shit. M&S told me I’m a B cup. I laughed in her face. I wear a 40H and actually need recheck as I’ve gained some breast tissue I agree, M&S, Victoria secret and Ann Summer fitting services are sketchy. Don't many places use the +4 rule still, which is wrong? My band is my underbust rib circumference. Cup is the difference in inches between that and my bust circumference. B=1, C=2, etc. Xx They do but my underbust is 27 inches so no idea how they fit my as a 34 underband . A 27" underbust! You're tiny Lacey. What is your bust then to be a 30G? Xx Yeah . My waist has been bigger than my underbust before . My bust is 39 inches. You're very high waisted then? Have you tried a 28H? Very jealous of your bod btw xx Yep. Makes buying corsets hard! I have to get a 28GG in panache bras but for most other brands I wouldn’t get a 28 fastened. I've even had to get a 32 in a bikini from Debenhams once but that was a one off and 90% of the time the 30 is perfect. Just tried to friend you. Yeah I normally wear a 38 but sometimes need a band extender. I always find bikinis seem to need one size up too. Xx Friend request sent . Yeah probably the company's being lazy and not adjusting the sewing pattern for having two layers of fabric compared to a bra! The elastics get folded over between the fabrics too so have two layers either side. All adds up to make it less stretchy. Thanks I see, do you have a background in clothing or fashion? You mentioned uni too xx" I did a degree in Contour Fashion (lingerie, swimwear, sportswear, etc) and now I make latex clothing as one of my two jobs

"I'm on the other end of the spectrum in my boobs are only a 34b, most of the off rack bras tend not to fit me properly. Either a little to big or small. So if I'm after a sexy bra or a set I tend to go Victoria secrets and get a made to measure one " Looking at your pics, it's unlikely you're a 34 band or a B cup. B cup means the full bust measurement is only 2ins more than your band measurements. Also you look to be quite petite so I doubt you measure 34" round the underboob area, though might be wrong. Have a bash with the Boob or Bust method and see what comes out........
