.

Or is it more the fact that they tend to just get on with it and not look for justification from others that it's an ok thing to do, discuss?

It's not more acceptable, it's just simply more ignored by the many men willing to meet

Cheating is never okay, from either party in a relationship, in my opinion.

(I don't count "extramarital with consent" as cheating, just to be clear)

Not sure if more acceptable as such, but seems to be more accepted imo, I could and probably am wrong though

A cheating wife is being naughty, a cheating husband is an asshole, that’s just the rules.

That is an interesting question actually, perhaps because they can be more emotionally in control having this gives a sort of vibe?

Its acceptance I suppose is more acceptable in the manner of every guy has a thing for a naughty married lady even those with permission just a big turn on

My view of it, is that some women can easily put themselves into the shoes of a woman that is being cheated on and would hate to be the cause of hurt to a unknowing family, where as some men find cheating women a turn on, the primal urge to upstage another man is strong

"A cheating wife is being naughty, a cheating husband is an asshole, that’s just the rules."

My cheating husband was an asshole because, he lied about it when asked and neglected his kids whilst doing the cheating. The actual sex wasn't the problem, that I could have accepted. The lying, disrespect and disregard for me was the issue.

No, it's not more acceptable to me personally. But because it's a female and we are in short supply on here compared to other groups people seem to turn a blind eye. I've been contacted by cheating women and turned them down too. I'm an equal opportunities meeter lol.

I have never seen a thread started by a woman playing away asking for validation.

They do just get on with it it seems.

I'm not judging anyones situation - it's not my business.

You know what I never thought about it until recently. .I have a male cheating acquaintance. Just think it's wrong.. if you're not happy in your relationship then end it so partner can have someone who really adores them.

But.

He's just started a relationship with a married women with three young kids.

I am sure this is a controversial opinion but I feel she's much worse than him as she's a mum to three kids. She's their main caretaker and should be doing all she can to care for them.

I know it sounds wrong especially as I write it because anyone cheating is wrong but I just feel a mum.cheating is worse.

I so think that sounds so sexist too. I know in the only one in my friendship group who thinks this way too...

In the same way women never start threads asking for profile advice, they don’t need to. They’ve already justified the cheating in their heads before they’ve done it, rightly or wrongly.

"A cheating wife is being naughty, a cheating husband is an asshole, that’s just the rules."

Fab Rule #31 if I recall correctly.

But no. Cheating is cheating and you're an asshat regardless of gender.

And to be honest this is a recurring topic for the last decade on Fab.

Ultimately nothing is acceptable if it doesn't fit in with your values. People who spout vitriolic hatred to those whove come here for extra marital sex ( no its not acceptable per se) will sometimes be the very same people who've perhaps committed fraud, stolen, assaulted someone etc etc etc.

Unless I've been directly affected thats others business unless they seek my opinion.

Its worth noting I think, that some folk who've indulged see clarity afterwards and invest in relationships.

We're all work in progress, not the finished article. Bigger things in the world to focus on than drama!

Women don't need profile advice as sadly even a silhouette with no profile text gets bombarded with messages about how 'stunning' they are

All men are bastards so a woman cheating is awesome because she got her own back on mankind.

If a man cheats it's because all men are bastards.

I think there is a social bias towards a man cheating rather than a woman...for men cheating its seen as having your cake and eating it hence the A hole term, yet a woman cheats and its still the man she's cheating with thats in the wrong more so, as he's deemed as trying "to outdo her partner". A cheat should be a cheat regardless of sex/gender etc. xT

that must explain why I ate the last chocolate biscuit in work. Personally I don't think every married individual is entirely comfortable with what they do, but still find themselves driven by whatever issues they carry.

This, when blokes start such threads is it not a percentage are look at me I am a 'bad boy'and don't care if what others think as there are some women who are attracted to that?

Some it's maybe guilt seeking them to get validation from others as to why it's ok to do what they do..

I have - once!

She got a far better response than the guys generally do - but still got slated by some. Her op was from a ‘who thinks it’s hot/exciting to meet someone who cheats?’ point of view - which I found pretty repugnant.

There’s like a thousand billion men to one female ratio on here. What makes you think the majority of men on here care about morals? They couldn’t care less. Any hole’s a goal to them.

In the middle

This is how cheating goes if women cheat their husbands must be terrible and treat them badly no wonder she fell into the arms of another man and good for her, if men cheat he’s and asshole who treats his wife terribly and she deserves better.

Sorry men you simply can’t win this one

I guess the general rule of Fab is just pass on by certain threads.

But I always find the hypocrisy quite alarming on some.

Everyone knows that such activities aren't acceptable in society.

Statistics on cheating by men or women wont provide answers, just the questions to ask.

Is it unhappiness? Narcissistic behaviour? Sociopathic behaviour or a long list of other reasons including simple sellers relationships which women experience just as much men.

Lets not forget that many mental health issues are connected to sexually promiscuous behaviour. People misguided in their efforts to find something in their lives that equates to happiness.

I doubt women are treated any better. In fact outside of fab, I daresay they'd get a far harder time in society.

This is true. In the real world it’s always the woman’s fault - and until recently if a man abused his wife it was assumed it was her fault too.

Fab - in my experience - is the real world flipped at 180 degrees - it’s the only place I know of where women have the upper hand because of their rarity.

I guess that equates to being less judged on here - but in general society a promiscuous woman - whether married and cheating or free and single - is frowned upon far more than a promiscuous man!

And this is why I never have sex outside of fab! X

"Or is it more the fact that they tend to just get on with it and not look for justification from others that it's an ok thing to do, discuss?"

Cheating in and of itself is simply a lack of respect for your partner.

If partners agree that sexual encounters can happen with other people, then that is fine. Knowing or not knowing when is a compromise you'll need to discuss.

Being cheated on as a man, is usually easier because men both feel proud that your partner is attractive to other men, also men don't tie quite the same way emotionally as women and can rationalize in a detached way.

I think women get more hurt when cheated on because its more a 'trust violation' and cuts deeper emotionally as they try to work out why the man went to the other woman instead of her.

Or maybe my brain meats are broken

Oh.

And from a biology standpoint...

Males are genetically programmed to spread seed as far as possible.

Females are also programmed to select the individual male to provide the best traits to their young...you know size, strength, ability to provide etc.

Humans are a lot.more complicated, but boil it down to basics and this is a decent percentage of driving force.

Think it's because men in general don't care where women in general do and don't want it.

Personally, respect is vital to me so anyone who would disrespect their partner, someone they claim to love, they sure won't respect me so it's a no go. Plus I've been on the receiving end and it hurt like hell.
