Okayyyy.

Mine is that I have PTSD and one of my triggers for twelve years was a particular song that I would go straight into flashbacks and panic attacks mode when I heard just a tiny snippet. That's gradually gone away to the stage where it's just been on the radio and I had zero reaction to it. Yay for me.

I'm proud that I'm still around! There's been many times that I haven't wanted to be. I've been through a lot. Most recently, I had bowel cancer. I'm not 100% well, but the cancer has gone. It made me realise what's important. I'm very happy with my life now

I have just started the job of my dreams a month ago, when 15 months ago I no longer wanted to walk on this earth anymore.

To all those single parents, to all those who have conquered a phobia or a panic trigger, to all those who have and still do beat the 'black dog' down. I salute you all.

Because I have Schizophrenia, Depression and Anxiety

and everyone hates me because of them

even my own family

I have no friends no fuck buddies

and I bet no one could walk or even survive a day in my shoes

and I just breeze by like it's nothing while most people would commit suicide

that about sums it up

I feel pride for other people’s Achievements who are close to me, it’s not an emotion I feel about myself, probably the nearest I’ve come is when I’ve finished a job and it looks good and the costumer is pleased, but that’s more a sense of satisfaction more than anything else.

In the past 9 years of my life atleast 1 person I love dearly has died, in total 13 people, I have had to pull a knife out the back of my uncles head as a wee boy, I’ve been decieved , lied to, neglected and forgotten about a lot recently, last month my best friend committed suicide, which was very sudden, I lost both of my jobs as soon as lockdown happened and just last week I had to move out of my flat, am signed off for my new job that I just got my full contract in because my hand is broken and has pins hanging out of it as support, and I was left just over last month by my partner because she couldn’t deal with my constant feelings of depression , and I will admit I tried some silly things that I will not repeat again, but at the end of the day I’m not stopping now, I’m still diligently working my way through uni studying psychology and criminology , and I’m not going to let those thoughts and events take over me , sorry this is a bit full on but ack well it’s always good to get you’re thoughts out there x

Today I put together a “pamper package” for my friend who has been shielding after cancer treatment. Lots of odds and ends put in to bring a smile to her face. So from miniature bottles of Prosecco to scented candles and a few lotions and potions from lush and the occasional bag of vegan candies.

I put it all in a “fat balls” bird food box because it made me laugh

I've chipped away every day during the pandemic to improve the lives of forgotten vulnerable people. I've kept myself alone, even when I didn't have to, because every interaction increases our danger and makes this all last longer. When I had a suspected case I only saw medical staff for two solid months so I killed the curve. I've decided to stay the course here rather than flee back to my family, even when my family have been very ill and I knew I'd have to handle that alone.

I have my own frailties. I am tired. I am weakened. My resolve is unbroken. I will do the right thing.

Dealt with my divorce well, new town, job, home and friends. Kept a good relationship with my ex wife so we don’t argue over anything.

But most of all my Lads, both Autistic I surprised them last week by turning up at their home (my ex suggestion) and jumping out from the kitchen to scare them. As they entered the hall way I heard my youngest say ‘are we going to Dads now’ in an excitable tone, then when I jumped out, they were both over the moon to see me.

I’m proud I carried on and maintained those relationships, at my lowest I had considered other outcomes.

Wish I could. Even registered for a Doner card but they are not really interested in me. Because I have lived for more than 6 months in the UK I might carry Mad Cow Disease. As there is no test. No blood donations please nor organ transplants as a donor. FFS.

I saved a colleagues life after he collapsed from what I didn't know was a blood clot to his heart. 25 minutes of cpr and fitted a defibrillator and shocked him twice. Kept him alive and breathing until the ambulance arrived.

I had my son at 16, started my levels when he was 2wks old, went to uni when he was 3 and graduated when he was 6. I acquired a disability nearly 4 years ago but despite all the above, have pursued a successful career and am a department manager in a college. I'm proud of my drive and perseverance

That is brilliant...I had similar..beautiful piece of music but hear it and it would break me wherever I was..so one day I bought the cd and played it over and over until one day I stopped crying..so I understand how hard that was for you...BIG WELL DONE

I survived an emotionally abusive marriage, managed to instill I’m my kids that how I was treated isn’t the right way for a man to treat a woman. Helped see them through the trauma of what’s happened to them as well as dealing with my own. And have 3 thoughtful and caring young adults I’m proud to say are my children x

I've stopped 4 complete strangers on different occasions from committing suicide. They still keep in touch and they are all in loving relationships now.
