I’m thinking of taking up airfix kits. I need a new hobby and staring down the barrel of another 6 months without, I need something that makes my fingers sticky, have a good stab at doing properly but knowing that ultimately I will end up swearing and disappointed with my results

Can relate.. i went 4 years without.

When i met my now ex, i said to him 'we are fucking' on the 2nd date as simply the longer i left it, the longer i was going to worry about doing it..

I may be biased but there is so much more to a fulfilling sex life than penetration.

I have always struggled with keeping interested during and after PIV sex, regardless the person I am with.

If I never had PIV sex again I would not be bothered, but away everything else I enjoy and we have issues.

I was celibate from the age of 25 to 35. It was bad for about 12-18 months, but after that I didnt miss it at all and pretty much assumed I'd never have sex again.

Once I did my libido came absolutely roaring back to life, and it was hard to imagine going a day without at least getting myself off.

These are stressful and traumatizing times, it's bound to have an impact.

Sorry to contradict you, but for me the opposite is true - the worse I'm feeling about myself the lower my libido

It's fluctuating wildly at the moment. Sometimes by the minute

Some ways I wish I could feel this way. I get way to temperamental and grumpy without. There is so much more than just wanting sex for me. It’s the thrill, the feeling of hurting the next day, being someone else in that moment. I crave it constantly which can be a real struggle, especially when you burst into tears because you dropped a t’bag on the floor

Saying that I won’t just sleep with anyone to get that fix, I will suffer till I find the person I know i will have great sex with.

I also had a few years of celibacy in my 20s. It wasn't the lack of sex that I found the problem. It was the lack of connection, feeling undesired and undesirable.

This is going on for an unknown and unknowable duration, but it's not that I'm broken, it's that I'm doing my bit for my community. I can handle that.

I do have moments where I get insanely horny and miss sex (mostly when sex scenes come up on TV lol) but for the most part I don't really feel like I'm missing out that much and just thought that was a bit weird...

If I know there's the possibility of actual sex then yes I'll be thinking about it and getting horny. When there's not a remote chance of getting it then it doesn't bother me.

When it did and I was horny, watching porn and masturbating lots it just added to the frustration. Stopped watching porn, stopped masturbating. And I used to use masturbating as a brief mood enhancer but the effect of that lessens over time.

I would rather either be having sex (even a bit of sexting with someone) than watching porn/masturbating just for the sake of it.
