Try and find constructive routine, go for walks to clear your thoughts and think clearly, seek professional help as regarding employment, give yourself balanced time to be productive x

2 weeks after a bad car crash? That’s nothing! It’s pretty normal that you wouldn’t have recovered from that yet, let alone adding job loss and the current condition of overall angst to the mix. You have to stop being hard on yourself. Concentrate on getting physically better first and get some counselling about the psychological issues too. Good luck, talking about things is always good and you will get through this.

If you have someone close to you you can talk to then talk to them.

If not MIND has a list of helpline and listening services: https://www.mind.org.uk/information-support/guides-to-support-and-services/crisis-services/helplines-listening-services/

It sounds like it's time to get an appointment with a GP also and tell them what is going on with youself.

I would say it sounds normal after a bad car accident but it is unlikely just to pass without seeking support from a professional. Start with your GP.

Seek professional advice and help to get you through.

Best of luck and here’s hoping that things improve for you.

I'm not disagreeing with what you're saying, but it's not necessarily easy to get counselling on the NHS. It's currently about a year's wait. Of course if you're urgent you might get bumped up the list.

Ask me how I know this

Talk to your doctor. Counselling is extremely difficult to get on the NHS and has phenomenal waiting periods, but they may put you on antidepressants. Antidepressants are not a cure all, but... I find they're like a safety net. I'll still fall off the tightrope, but I won't splat on the concrete, I'll just wind myself.

Find mental health organisations to talk to, like Mind, or the Samaritans.

Look into techniques that you can use to help yourself cope. Meditation and grounding are ones that seem like they might be appropriate here.

Divide your mental health strategies into three categories. The first is wallowing. Do things that make you feel good or make you forget the pain. Nothing too destructive, but like bath, sleep, chocolate. Your mind needs to rest.

The second is things that make you feel good about yourself but aren't necessarily fixing the problem. A hobby, exercise, helping people. Build yourself up.

The third is tackling the problem, which can be hard, and it can be scary.

And remember that these things are difficult, but they don't have to be permanent. There is help out there, and you're not alone.

Best wishes.
