Being a strict vegan I can’t go through towns or city’s with ham in the name, when I’m in the Midlands I have to take some major detours.

I'm in the same boat... most weeks I'm in a hotel somewhere in the uk but rarely even able to get someone to meet just for a drink

Calderdale innit

I think all of us get these types of messages ie I'm in a hotel/truck later, wanna come over

I never would, I like to get to know someone so wouldn't meet someone same day and they don't usually message until the day they are visiting my town. Plus it's only ever a social meet for me 1st, so wouldn't go straight to someone's hotel room even before covid.

I get loads of messages from people staying in hotels for a few nights, saying, hey, lets hook up tonight /tomorrow

I'd meet up with someone who was just passing but only for a social and only if they were a forum user who's name I recognised... and hadn't thought they were an absolute dick from their forum posts

I was about to say no but yeah for a social with someone I knew from here I would. I live close to the A1 so quite a few pass by. Not for anything other than a cuppa though.

Personally, I dont find " I'm in your area" terribly flattering

It reeks of "anyone will do"

Not to mention the fact that most guys want me to fit into their time frame and relieve their boredom. Quite often at one in the morning

Yes, if it's long distance friends passing nearby and bringing gold/frankincense/myrrh/cake then they are always welcome. But when it's a truck driver asking if I'll drive 10 miles over to the M6 services at 3am, to give him a blow job in his cab...

Rotten old Mr 19.

If I was in the situation of travelling a lot (which I'm not) I would be trying to establish conversations with people in different places over the long term so I'm already known to somebody if I'm headingtto their area. It's hard enough for a guy to get a response to a message let alone a request on the fly to meet up. Luke
