Not fair when you are labelled as a time waster.

Middlesbrough

I got an invite off a couple. I don't drive so I will be taking the bus. I knew I would beat the time agreed but I was wrong.

A very young lady had a seizure in the bus and in the middle of no where. The bus had to stop for an ambulance to come. I check my phone no service.

We were there for about 20min for the ambulance to come and take the poor lady to the hospital.

So we continue with our journey but by the time I could get a connection 30 min had passed to the agreed time and I found out I was blocked and labelled a time waster.

I was disappointed and got off the next bus stop because there's no way I could contact them and I don't want to be knocking at there door when I'm not welcomed anymore. They should have given a benefit of the doubt when I already told them I'm on my way.

I think this is not fair. Please share your experience if you've been in this situation.

Hi op

I think many people have been messed about so many times, that blocking becomes a gut reaction.

If you were quite late with no contact due to no signal, I can see why they might have thought you a no show.

Just chalk it down to experience op, it couldn't be helped.

It’s sounds really unfortunate surely the couple can understand the situation you found yourself in Are they on here?

As a couple that have been sat in a pub for 30 minutes waiting for a no show you can see why people think time waster and block. It’s unfortunate but we would have probably done the same

Next time you should get their number or use another way of messaging rather than just here, I know you said you had no service but at least you would have more options to explain if possible.

Whatever the reason, you let them down and you let yourself down, move on, it wasn't meant to be.

Sounds awful op. For every genuine reason for being late, there are hundreds of wasters. You got dealt a duff hand there. They might think your a time waster, but you know the truth.

Blocked after 30 mins does sound a little impatient, but their choice. Maybe they’ve had a few no shows and lost all patience.

There's a girl on here I really really want to meet, nothing would stop me getting there on time, I'd go die hard, mission impossible, fast & furious for this girl.

Op I feel your pain......

The very moment I leave my house for a meet....

Work suddenly calls , dog or cat suddenly drops dead , someone close to me gets into a car accident, or the wife says “ wherever you are going , I’m coming too “

These are just the pitfalls of meeting strangers online for sex......

Next time you arrange a meet .... leave 2 hours earlier than you normally would.... it’s always better to be extremely early than 10 minutes late....

I know maybe a bad experience on their but blocking me its not fair on my side. They gave me no chance to explain myself. I would better liked to be ignored than blocked

I had a couple contact me out of the blue. Asked if I wanted to meet that night.

I replied saying I was interested and enquired as to what time they would like me to arrive.

Midnight was the reply.

Now I couldn’t do midnight due work commitments So kindly declined and offering a time and date that I could do.

Well that seemed to piss them off as they blocked me and put a tag on thier profile implying that I was a time waster.

I’d say in this instance it was a lucky escape on my part.

Or you might find yourself in a situation like the OP describes and be left licking your wounds as it had happened to you.

Whilst we can always plan for the best possible outcome, we can't always plan for the unexpected.

Sorry it happened to you OP - the only thing I'd say is maybe get their number and other details next time, explain up front that you have to get public transport and whilst you'll always leave plenty of time you are still at their mercy etc

I also suspect from what you've said that this was a quickly arranged meet after you'd not been chatting to them long, perhaps give some thought to taking more time getting to know them and building mutual trust next time - which I know isn't always easy, especially if you both want to meet quickly but sometimes it pays

Years ago, I got the chance to meet a couple, but as I didn't drive, I had to travel by train over to the station nearest to them, a trip of about 30 minutes plus a local taxi to their home.

But the train ground to a halt as it lost power and stopped in the middle of nowhere! It took over 3 hours for help to arrive, and get the train moving to a point where I could get a Mobile signal too!

I did make contact with them albeit almost 3 hours late; they'd heard on news about the rail disruption but couldn't work out why I hadn't called them sooner.

They refused to accept my apology and labelled me a timewaster. Ironically, two years later at another Meet where I was present, one attending Couple were late by at least 2 hours.

Yes, it was them, having broken down on the M25, in an area without any phone signal. Oh, I did enjoy returning the insults!
