In a forum debate there are many ways in which you can get your point across; each approach having varying degrees of success at a variety of junctures in the debate. The experienced poster will consider the direction of the debate and select their approach wisely to either blend with the style of other contributors or to contrast at the appropriate times when their point needs to stand out.

It is important to try a number of approaches rather than rigidly sticking to one, if you wish to become a veteran of debating. Below are some of the basics.

Structure: You may wish to carefully select your words and structure your argument around facts and real life experiences.

Belief: Sometimes belief is all it takes. You have no idea why you think you are right or where your beliefs on the subject came from, but if you stick to your guns and post with confidence you many just be able to convince others you know something they don’t.

Make Shit Up: You want your belief to be right and need to prove it, so what better way than just make something up and say it happened to you. Who needs Google as a friend when you can create your own facts and figures out of fresh air to make the perfect supplement to your point.

The Dismissing Challenge: Don’t show all of your cards at once, especially if you don’t have a playable hand. Force the other person to show theirs by telling them they live in a dream world without explaining why.

Throw Away Comment: Why single out specific points to challenge when you can make a generalised comment about ‘some people’ and never disclose who you are calling an idiot. This may force several people to show their hands and still leave yours covered; no one will ever know you were only holding an 8 high.

Emoticons: Why type when you can simply click and let the rolling eyes say it all. This approach has two very contrasting uses: When you have no counter argument, but also when you know the other person is just too thick to comprehend a well structured point.

The Emotive Retort: Call them a cunt!

I am busy working I'll have you know. I'm sitting in on a conference call for someone and taking notes for them. There's not been much worth noting though.

The cell's organelles and cytoplasm are enclosed by a cell membrane; it obtains its food through phagocytosis. This makes amoebae heterotrophs. Amoebae have a single large tubular pseudopod at the anterior end, and several secondary ones branching to the sides. The most famous species, Amoeba proteus, averages about 220-740 µm in length, while in motion.[6] making it a giant among amoeboids.[7] A few amoeboids belonging to different genera can grow larger, however, such as Gromia, Pelomyxa, and Chaos.

Amoebae's most recognizable features include one or more nuclei and a simple contractile vacuole to maintain osmotic equilibrium. Food enveloped by the amoeba is stored and digested in vacuoles. Amoebae, like other unicellular eukaryotic organisms, reproduce asexually via mitosis and cytokinesis, not to be confused with binary fission, which is how prokaryotes (bacteria) reproduce. In cases where the amoeba are forcibly divided, the portion that retains the nucleus will survive and form a new cell and cytoplasm, while the other portion dies. Amoebae also have no definite shape. Also known to type shit in forums.

Bewarned - if you call someone a c**t, you are likely to receive a ban.

There are other ways to string someone up without resorting to name-calling.

Don't forget to block first, so that peeps who do not have the guts to say what they really want to say in an open forum cannot attack you via PMs.
