Bad planning

I am a notoriously bad planner, particularly when it comes to food which means I often shop every other day. This inevitably leads to buying crap and lots of it.

It also means I'm left in situation like today where I am very hungry but have nothing in but can't be arsed to go get anything so I'll wait until I'm even hungrier then go buy all of the food!

There are 2 parts to this thread....

1) how good are you at planning?

2) will you please bring me breakfast.

In a ball gown because that's how we roll in N. Devon

I'm so bad at planning that I'm meant to be getting on a train 20 minutes before the bus gets to the station this morning......

And I'm sorry, no breakfast available here....

A box at end of your bed

I would happily bring you your breakfast if you where in my bed.

As for planning something I tend not to do as they always end up going tits up I more just go with the flow

I'm good at planning especially where food is concerned. One big food shop a week with shopping list. All meals planned for the week so I know what I need to buy and I go round the house and see what everyday food I am low on.

If you were closer I'd sort breakfast out for you.

Prior planning preparation prevents piss poor performance. Sorry I can’t help it , it was beaten into me from an early age

I am a great planner, but also a great ad-liber, so if the plan fails, I can usually find a work around

I've always had jobs that demand planning and thinking on your feet when it goes tits up

I've been up since 6.30 prepping veg and meats for this weeks batch cook

Hopefully, it will all be done by lunch meaning the rest of the day is mine to enjoy

If you were nearer, I'd gladly provide brekkie

I flit between the two. When I'm on it I'm very good at being organised. Meal preps etc.

When im not on it I end up shopping everyday and like you buy crappy food.

Right now.. i want breakfast and don't have any thing.. but my bed is holding me hostage..

It's not that far really

My problem is that I can't think now what I want to eat on Wednesday. Or I'll buy things then decide I don't want that for dinner so buy something else.

I love planning and in general I'm great at it. Sometimes I get planning fatigue when I wish others could take the rein.

As far as breakfast goes... learn to plan.

You need a shopping list that you take time to write in advance.

That’s definitely what you need, however I hope you get what you want which is some handsome bloke bringing you breakfast

I bought the SW 'Take 5' book last week

(I don't do SW, but a lady at work runs classes)

Max of 5 ingredients per recipe, easy to make, so last night, I just shopped around that

Batch cook what you can (3 or 4 different recipes) and freeze them - that way you always have variety in and, if you do fancy summat else when you get home, it won't go to waste

Gapping Fanny

Its not about what you want to eat on Wednesday, its about what you wouldn't mind eating on Wednesday.

I am quite OCD when it comes to planning, I prefer to have at least a rough idea if what is going to happen, but accept things often dont go to plan.

Get yourself 7 meals you enjoy, some frozen, fresh, just add water etc.

Then work your way through them.

I kinda go between the 2. Last weekend I was feeling good and batch cooked loads of meals. This weekend not so great so moped around and not done anything. What’s going on in my life reflects how good I am at planning

I'm awful!

I can't plan anything without the desire to cancel it immediately

I usually leave the supermarket with random things.

I left with wine, a red pepper and some fabric softener yesterday

I need help.

I love planning. Food is a passion for me. I've got a fully stocked kitchen and larder and I batch cook. I've 2 freezers, one of which is full of homemade ready meals. I always plan options I might want to eat the day before. Planning will help you stop buying all the food, I know exactly what that's like.

No brekkie sorry, I'm still in bed

I’m crap at planning life but have the good thing down to a fine art. I got so sick of cooking for one so now at the start of the month I make massive batches of my favourites like chilli and curry and portion and freeze them. So I have at least 30 days meals already done. breakfast?!? That’s coffee...
