Ebike or scooter?

Mostly I walk everywhere and only use the car when I have to travel distance, carry heavy stuff or go camping. I also have a knee that limits me somewhat so I was considering either an ebike or small motorbike (I only really need an escooter but what with them being illegal).

I don't have a cycle to convert nor loads of money so I would be starting from scratch.

What are your experiences? Any tips?

I’d go with an e bike, they put out what you put in, so at least you’re getting some exercise. Depending on price range though, it’s all about the battery, I’d probably go with a Giant, they’re the best value for money out of the large bike manufacturers.

I don't need the exercise really but I do need to protect my already failing knee, I'm going to be alive for many years yet and I want it to work to its full potential.

What sort of effort is needed with an ebike?

Very little, but you can tailor the bike to how much help you need, I think there’s a limit to just the battery that is 15mph, so it’s not very fast, depends what you want if for.

North Bucks

They have been trialing Escooters and bikes in Milton Keynes and Northampton.

Used the Spin app last weekend while out in MK. We did a park crawl and you can cover a surprising amount of distance on a scooter it’s good fun as well

Worth seeing if your council is going to bring them in as it’s backed by the government.

All depends on if you want to sit or stand

Also at the moment e-scooters are not road leagal unless they are rentals but thaat may change.

Another thing is that the e-scooters are seen as cool by the kids so the bike would be less likely to get stolen

I've been looking into that, thanks.

I see loads where I live, used illegally of course.

I got a bike in the end and its bloody wonderful.

I'm feeling a bit exposed on the road, I'd forgotten what that was like but I'm a confident cyclist.

I'm getting a bit of a workout too
