Arse End of the Universe, Cumbria

I don't give a monkeys about the olympics, but have been fascinated by some of the torch carriers stories...my friend's 14 year old grandson carried the torch near to us, he had meningoccocal meningitis at age 2 and was written off by the medical profession, many of his bones crumbled, he's had 2 hip replacements, he's severely disabled and mostly wheelchair bound but has a smile to melt the hardest heart and is a happy young man.....I was stood outside the supermarket yesterday talking to his gran and we were getting odd looks as both of us had tears streaming down our faces just talking about how he'd done....there's been some real inspirational stories, he was able to walk the last 100 yards or so and hand the torch over to the next person...truly amazing....

Bugger, I'm crying again
