What is your experience with time wasters and how did you deal with it?

A while back, I agreed to meet a couple for some fun after chatting on fab for months. I was given the address to me at the agreed time. Upon getting there, no one answered the door. After waiting for 45 mins and sent two messages with no reply I left.

30 minutes later, I got a reply saying

“ sorry someone else got here before you, maybe another time”

I replied “sorry there won’t be one”

I've had something similar before. I was chatting with a couple for a while and had agreed a meet for the three of us. It gets to just before I'm about to set off for theirs and drop them a message to check we're still on, to which I got the reply along the lines of "How do you feel about another guy joining?". Called it off straight away. I probably would have been okay with an extra but maybe if I'd known more than half an hour beforehand and who it was

I had a different profile but left the site due to time wasters, now I am back with a different user name, I am getting the same old stories from the same people, I was supposed to meet a couple this morning, he called it off last minute with exactly the same excuse he used with me in my other profile, I don’t even think his “wife” exists?

The very few genuine people i came across during my time on here still make it all worthwhile.

It can be frustrating and infuriating though to be stood up over and over again, or to have to hear lame excuses that i don't believe on why they didn't make it.

These people aren't worth the hassle or even a second thought and i like to think I'm better off without them anyway x

I wouldnt have waited 5 minutes, if they don't answer the door when I call, then I leave, I block them, name and shame, they never get a chance to waste my time again

Social first always. I wouldnt have waited 5 mins letalone 45m. The thing is for me id always agree to meet in a pub/bar near the address first... id be worried that they had just given a random address out or a neighbours address and that they were sat watching for the reaction

I can usually spot one before any talk if meeting. I've never been stood up yet on fab so I think my waster radar is pretty good....

Ive had this in the past..the only advice i can give from personal experiance is this..

Organise a social via whatsapp facetime and get to know them..i wouldnt bother venturing out if it seemed suspicious..

Organizing to meet you and “somebody else got here sooner” is a load of shit..block+report for wasting your time..i wonder if they have actually met people..their loss

I have been let down twice like that before. On one occasion, I was told due to unforeseen circumstances to meet them somewhere else but there will be another man that is orally bi and would like to suck me! Told them where to go not so politely

I think there are a lot of genuine people on here, but for one reason or another they either don’t float your boat or you theirs.

Thankfully of the “time wasters” we have been exposed to have been via the chat function.

There is no way I would wait 45 minutes, thats just taking the mick.

I wouldn’t be surprised if anyone arranging to meet in the present climate is deliberately stood up as meets unless socially distanced are not allowed on Fab.

I have no sympathy for anyone trying to arrange to meet for sex now who has their time wasted.

I tend to talk for a while, then arrange a coffee at my local services. If I'm concerned then I'd arrange a video chat first (and I mean chat. I don't cam).

It's not too far for me, and I know I'll show up. And if they don't I still get a nice coffee sat somewhere nice.

Ofc, I won't be meeting anyone while the pandemic is still about, so probably not for another year or so.

I was stood up for a video chat recently, didn't bother replying. Just blocked and moved on. I have no interest in anyone who doesn't bother taking 10 seconds to cancel, my time is precious and I won't more of it.

I've not had any time wasters on prelude social to sex meets, It was the just friend's only a cuppa tea and a chat meet that used to throw up the occasional time waster, but I'd always arrange a back up shopping trip just in case

I’m sorry to hear that happened to you but as already mentioned, I wouldn’t have waited that long.

I don’t understand why someone would go to the trouble of agreeing to meet in the first place if their intention was to stand you up.
