Up until about a couple of hundred years ago people slept about four hours then woke up for a couple of hours, had a snack, sex, read etc and then went back to sleep for another four

Never enough. Have really erratic sleep patterns. Always broken. Once in a blue moon I may have 4 1/2-5 hours uninterrupted sleep.

I had a really loud snorer staying with me for about two months. She left on Monday and since then my body is just craving sleep constantly as I can finally sleep all night without disruption. Usually about 8h a night.

You'll have just enough time to get in to a nice rhythm before another snorer turns up

I get between 6 - 8 hrs.

Very rarely 8 though.

If it was pitch black and silent I'd be able to sleep more.

"How many hours do you sleep?"

It varies as a shift worker on early starts it’s 5-6 hours

Otherwise it’s 7-8 hours 7 is the modern day norm apparently
