Would you want to permanently feel zero pain if given the chance?

No.

Pain is the contrast to the good feelings. If I didn’t feel pain I’d never know real joy. X

As far as physical pain goes, speaking as someone with an absurdly high pain threshold, I’d again say no.

I’ve badly injured myself several times and not realised because I couldn’t feel it. That’s dangerous. X

Ardgay

Can be a factor in some medical conditions.

Often leads to tissue damage as small injuries are not noticed quickly

No. I heard something about a condition which exists to this effect, and the people who have it are forever fucking themselves up because they have no warning system between grazed knee and broken bones.

Oooh. This too. I was once misdiagnosed because "I wasn't complaining enough" and sent home with painkillers when I should have fucking died.

I think without emotional pain there would be less emotional development, imo it takes a person to go through some pain to become a more understanding person and to appreciate the good more.

A lack of physical pain as mentioned above could be a dangerous thing, but the Mount of times I wack myself in work it would be nice not to feel some of them

Hell no! There is some pain that can be incredibly enjoyable and without any kind of pain, how would you know if you might be doing yourself some actual permanant damage.

As for emotional pain, you can't have the deliriously intense good feelings and recognise them for what they are without also knowing real emotional pain.....sometimes that emotional pain can help you step away from damaging situations you shouldn't be in too.

Im keeping the pain thankyou
