I've been noticing this more frequently in 2020 and I can't tell if it's a lockdown thing or if my ol' brain is just packing up a bit...

Anyone else noticed this in themselves? Just me?

I'd never heard of change blindness before. I don't think it happens to me but how would I know?

Is that the same as sign weary. Too many signs up telling you this and that you just dont notice them anymore. I definitely have that.

Isn't it just symptomatic of us all being engrossed in our phones all the time?

They knocked a great big building down in my village last month. I drive past it 4 x a day. I only noticed this morning and only because someone pointed it out

"'Change blindness is the finding that observers often fail to notice large changes to objects or scenes when the change coincides with a brief visual disruption'

Ol' Google "

There was a good example I saw where a barmaid was chatting to someone whilst serving them and as she ducks behind the counter to get a glass, she swaps with another barmaid who continues the conversation and serving the drink.

Most people just didn't notice.
