Partial to both. Got an indoor cat in June, she was from a rescue home.

Don't agree with cats not being loyal, far from it. But I guess it depends on the cat and how many you have had.

I'm thinking that closer to retirement, I will get a dog too.

Hello How are you, your husband and Molly cat doing? Well, I hope. Dave is like Molly - she's probably the most empathetic of the gang, but if I'm feeling a bit down, Nkosi and Lobengula are the best for entertaining me and making me laugh it off. I love dogs, and all animals but cats are just so hilariously random and unpredictable

As the great Christopher Hitchens nce said..

“Owners of dogs will have noticed that, if you provide them with food and water and shelter and affection, they will think you are god. Whereas owners of cats are compelled to realize that, if you provide them with food and water and shelter and affection, they draw the conclusion that they are gods.”

It's cats for me and have to pesky little furballs. As I type they're sleeping back to back under the upturned wheelbarrow in the garden. They won't come in, not even for Dreamies treats. My go to trick to make them break cover when I can't find where they're hiding at throwing out time.

The relationship is very , very different ,dogs are very domesticated and trained. Cats can’t be trained, they own us, they are protective and concerned for our welfare and bring live mice to us in bed at night to teach us how to hunt
