"Onward and Upward eh Wishy... "

That's the spirit. Tally-ho, Pip pip and Bob's ya uncle.

Be good to see Giggs on a sort of world stage too.

I do so hope the girls whip their tops off when they score like the men do, or even better still, start kissing each other. Nothing beats a good les fest.

Pearce has announced his 18-man squad for the Olympics and, as reported, there's no place for Beckham. I think Pearce has made a mistake leaving him out in favour of Craig Bellamy and Micah Richards but we'll see.

Full squad:

Goalkeepers:

Jack Butland (England), Birmingham City

Jason Steele (England), Middlesborough

~

Defenders:

Ryan Bertrand (England), Chelsea

Steven Caulker (England), Spurs

Craig Dawson (England), West Brom

Micah Richards (England), Manchester City

Danny Rose (England), Spurs

Neil Taylor (Wales), Swansea City

James Tomkins (England), West Ham

~

Midfielders:

Joe Allen (Wales), Swansea City

Tom Cleverley (England), Manchester United

Jack Cork (England), Southampton

Ryan Giggs (Wales), Manchester United

Aaron Ramsey (Wales), Arsenal

Scott Sinclair (England), Swansea City

~

Forwards:

Craig Bellamy (Wales), Liverpool

Marvin Sordell (England), Bolton Wanderers

Daniel Sturridge (England), Chelsea

I do hope Team GB do really well.

The torch relay across the country has given much joy to people and the buzz is great to feel.

all the best
