What dish are you best at cooking or baking? The one that's better than shop/restaurant bought.

Mine are..

Main - Chicken breast fillet topped with chopped tomatoes, spinach & cheese, with seasoned roast potatoes.

Desert - Sweet potato pie with whipped cream.

Luckily for me my wonderful wife was the top ranked chef in our department when we had a restaurant so she does all the cooking but if I cooked it would just be stir frys.!!!!

Sea bass, dauphinois potatoes, asparagus wrapped in palma ham, a little butter and lemon sauce herby sauce.

For afters, i usually do a chocolate lava cake (individual portion) with homemade ice cream

When i do a roast, i make my own vegetable stock for the gravy. Bay leaves, boquet garni.. veg trimmings etc

Then slow roast red peppers and onions, blend them and add to the sieved stock. Add finely chopped mushrooms and reduce it further. Then i use good old bisto.

Used to sell the leftover gravy from pub lunch service to my locals

Almost anything in an “American” themed restaurant (Frankie&Bennies I’m looking at you). I am so sorely disappointed when I go to these type of places as I can do it so much better in my own kitchen

“American style pancakes” - most places have beaten the batter to much and it’s not fluffy (15 turns of the spoon or less!)

And then they never put a big heaping of butter on top! This has been lost in translation but if you google American pancakes it will have a scoop/pat of butter on top- without it - it ain’t American

I don’t really have a signature dish I’m a all rounder when it comes to main dishes. I make a cracking roast dinner though with perfectly crisp roasties and thick meaty gravy.

Deserts, most of mine pretty good but a make a great cheesecake (making one this afternoon) and a very indulgent sticky toffee pudding

Diagonally Parked in a Parallel Universe

I made some amazing Cornish Pasties this week from scratch, including the pastry. I usually use ready roll pastry, so was very pleased with them. I also make roast hazelnut toffee tarts this week, too.

I'm generally not too bad at cakes, taste great, but presentation falls a bit flat!

A signature dish passed down from the Italian side of my mother's family and it's been passed down to all the females in the family for about 200 years - Macaroni soup, simple yet delicious. And I ain't going to share it

Chips , triple cooked ,first par boiled in homemade chicken and lamb stock, then chilled overnight. Second cook 2 hours before meal in peanut oil. Then finished before serving again in peanut oil

Slow roast lamb shoulder with mint butter and redcurent and black cherry reduction. 3 cheese cauliflower cheese made with double cream.

Cardamon and white chocolate souffle with apple and pears poached in sharp cider to cut the sweetness.

This is why my wife dosnt cook. Lol. I shot myself in the foot.

Rhiannons signature dish is pasta with chicken and ham with grated cheese. Lol
