Breath work.

So I've been advised to give breath work ago as a way to encourage emotional healing, practice self love and improve body acceptance.

I've watched the tutorial and the demo and even gave it a go. However started to feel a bit silly. I guess my brain wasn't relaxed enough.

I wondered if this is something any of you have tried or practice?

If so how do you find it?

I've tried focusing on breathing and it can help to a degree depending on the situation but it is circumstance depending I find.

I think that can help to a degree as can grounding etc in a heightened state. However this is a bit different, it is a specific practice for healing. So you take yourself off somewhere quiet to do it.

Square breathing is a technique I’ve used with a couple of my clients that suffer from serious mental health issues and it is very relaxing after a while.

It’s also known as 4x4 breathing, you can google it.

Basically you breath in for a count of 4, hold it for 4, release for 4 then hold for 4. Repeat.

Hope that helps a little. X

Thank you. I've tried something like this too. Also belly breathing. However this is to me entirely different. Like an emotional release.

Happy to share the links to it if anyone wants them x

We all take breathing for granted we just do it. It's actually quite a revelation when you actually start to really focus on it

I've always found that the breathing is a gateway to a medatitive state. Initially regulating the breath is a great initial focus, which then can lead to an easy and simple meditation; no need for 176 candles and a bulky How-To guide!

Past the breathing are other areas of focus while in the easy meditation state, but I'll stop here unless I've caught your attention!

Hope this helps!
