In the basement of my friend’s church making a spook alley for Halloween - date was the 25 Oct.

Older teens called everyone over to the boom box and said “you have to hear this!”

It might be cliche but I had a musical epiphany and it changed my life. Went in listening to en vogue and kriss kross to soundgarden, the kelvin’s, vaselines. Started going to basement punk gigs and booking bands and fighting my university to do so by the time I was 18.

Can't remember where I was when I first heard it, but it probably wasn't in 1991 (I was 6!) However No.1 son played a random song to me today and asked if I thought the intro sounded familiar. Ms Musical here said no. He pointed out it has exactly the same chord structure as SLTS but it was a reggae song. Only my son would hear that. Glad he's turned out to be a musician
