The Premier League was the worst thing to happen for the National team. Players are far more indebted to their sponsors and league team to even try and gel as a group and play for their country.

Other countries and leagues don’t have the billions pumped into them so they can buy the best from around the world rather than blood the young home grown talent

They do, but they just choose to invest the money better. Spain & Germany are prime examples of big money leagues but through proper structure & planning have not only strong, well supported teams, but also a wide ranging youth programme. The. Issue in England is how & where the money is distributed, as well as the over valuation of English players

Overrated and overpaid you’d think playing with players from other nations in the premier league/bundesliga would help the improve and increase quality

The issue in England is the likes of Leeds who have only just come up (and no disrespect to them) can pay £30million from TV money to try and improve their squad with a foreign import nobody has ever heard of. Why not give a youngster the chance??? The German & Spanish teams apart from the top 2 from each of those leagues can’t afford to do this.

The issue isn’t on a club to club basis though; these systems need inplimented across the footballing spectrum by governing bodies. Thats why at club level clubs that have recently favoured data analytics based recruitement have bucked spending trends. If the infastructure is put in place & funded appropriately, the moneh being thrown around at the top of the table becomes irrelevent if there’s the talent pool available

Gareth Southgate at fault with his dull formations against iceland and then Denmark.

Hopefully none of our players will sneak women into their hotel after the match!

This is what im saying, the problem isnt the Premier League, its with the footballing authorities that deal with the day to day of English football! It’s not the Premier Leagues fault teams & governing bodies waste the money they make!

And when a top first division player along with others who alongside played for england got around £300 or more a week for their local team I saw more talent in that squad than I,ve ever done since and that was nearly 50 years ago now the odd good players appear usually on loan now days or the club has sold them to make a profit on a not so good player which can often happen, add Injurys to the equation or getting sent off seems to be the norm now days.

It’s the teams in the Premier League who are at fault. The governing bodies WILL NOT interfere whilst so much money is involved.
