We're going to be spending a few days in Oxford soon. What's good to go and see around that area? We've done guided walking tour of the town. We're now looking for places of interest to visit in or around Oxford.

The Ashhmolean ond the Pitt Rivers (entrance via the natural history museum) are essentials. With your interest in music you will probably find the Bate museum fascinating (odd opening hours) also suggest the small science museum, oxford modern art gallery and the botanical gardens are all excellent.

Some of the older colleges are worthy of a tour, if they are doing them currently.

Just outside of Oxford then Blenheim Palace and Dorchester Abbey

Depending on weather take a punt along the river.

Dependent on where you are staying use the park and ride, the city centre parking is expensive!

Lots of good eateries around the Cowley Road and do try the arabic bakery and cafe, amazing vegetarian breakfasts (we will remember the name and post it lol)
