Anyone else struggling with lonliness, not due to lockdown but just that general feeling.

I'm thinking it's time to settle down,I'm not feeling strong enough to carry on alone.

I have done in the past felt lonely but not so much now.

But if I do I generally just go somewhere where there are other people.

Wander around the shops, cafe/pub for people watching. It can take your mind off things.

If you ever feel like just chatting then you can PM me.

Due to agoraphobia & sociophobia i've been stuck in my flat alone for 18 months, no family or friends to talk to, I'm kinda used to loneliness

When you're feeling like that it's probably not the best time to look for someone to share things with

Not so much at the moment. But I’m one of those people who can feel lonely in a room full of people.

Busy working during the week, but weekends can be a bit tough.

Have to keep the mind active and occupied.

And all these bloody lock down restrictions have escalated emotions a little

Beyond the shadows.

In general no as I'm aways out and about at clubs or socials or hanging out with friends. I did feel a bit isolated when I couldn't do that during lockdown but things are relaxing now so I'm feeling much better.

I’m a single dad (admittedly a weekend one) but joined Gingerbread in my area. The ladies love it when a Dad turns up, even one who’s part time currently. Check them out

I would rather find a partner from a place of strength, where I am happy in my company alone, and having them is an addition to my life, rather than to stave off loneliness.

If you are lonely, get a pet!

Lockdown has had a positive effect on my own mental health. I am at peace with my own solitude for the first time in my life! Have enjoyed being a hermit.

I do feel for others though who struggle without company

You are right,it's probably a rubbish idea, unfortunately I never find myself in a place of strength, it will just me me and my dogs for a while!

I was thinking that. If you find someone when you’re feeling lonely do you know if you really want them or they’re just an alternative to the loneliness?

I’m very lucky to never really feel lonely due to have close family and friends I can always call upon, but I also enjoy my own company. A lovey bath with a good book can soon get rid of any loneliness!

I'm ebbing back and forth atm. Was fine all week but this afternoon I've hit a low again.

Im going to have to find something to keep me occupied as I'm currently spending a fortune on shopping and eating for comfort (which of course never works)

Indeed I do, Coming on the fab forums is the only human interaction I get, some kind of normality. Its a great place to find humor, WTF? moments, things to make you think, and supportive people with similar issues.

I've basically always been on my own (single mother) so I'm hugely independent which doesn't bither me.

I would love someone just to share life and experiences with, dinnerc cinema, holidays abroad, someone else to choose netflix etc

I sometimes feel very lonely even when I’m surrounded by the people I love most in the world.

It happens. In the grand scheme of things we are all alone in our own mind. The trick is to find peace in this place and enjoy your own company. Big cuddles to you OP! X

To be blunt the NHS Mental health support is inadequate, I imagine its even more overstretched since COVID, the only help I get is my own version of therapy by coming on the fab forums.

Plenty of mistreated dogs out there looking for a loving home and companion.

Perhaps it’s just a little “rut” you find yourself in? Make a change and see how you feel?...the degree of change is up to you

I’m sorry you’re feeling like this. This pandemic has hit us all in so many different ways and at different times. Loneliness is a horrible, horrible feeling. If you think the time is right for you to find a partner then put yourself out there by joining events, clubs and meetings and just see how it goes. The Meet up app is pretty good. Sending hugs
