watching a programme about things being left inside your body after surgery.

One man had a 13" retractor left inside his abdomen

another guy had to have a tescticle removed due to infection after a surgical sponge was left in his scrotum!!

has anyone ever had anything left inside them??

I apparently have a needle in my jaw where it broke off having a root canal donkeys years ago.

I didnt know until I had an xray for some other treatment.

But thats about it. As far as I know....

never had anything left inside me but after i had a section they cut a main vain and left it, i almost bled to death, i had to have a blood transfustion and they opened me back up to re stitch my insides that they fucked up first time round, if i had been on my own id be dead now because they took me in the recovery room and just left me, it was only because my ex was with me and after asking several times if the blood loss was normal and getting no joy he literally dragged a midwife in and made her look at me, soon as she saw me she hit the buttom and everyone went on red alert, i was having my blood cross matched and back in theater within minutes

The biggest medical fuck up i know of personally was my sister in law had a amniocentesis and was told her baby had downs, she decided to have the child regardless after she was offered a termination only to be told months after that there had been a mistake and her baby didnt have downs after all but they had got the results mixed up with someone with the same name as her, so not only did they risk someone terminating a healthy child some women was carrying a downs child after the worry of having a amniocentesis and been told everything was ok

I had a vibrator slip right inside me couldnt get the thing out so had to go to the doctor rather embarrassingly I told him, thats not a problem he said just get you down to casualty they will get it out in no time ....Nooooo I said I just need the batteries changed
