It is not about the virus, but more so the cars that drive very close to the next one, especially on a motorway in high speed, what are their thought process and cant they see what could happen? Have you also seen it?

I've never understood that, it only takes a second for something to go wrong, and it's not like they're saving any journey time!

Only a fool breaks the two second rule.

When it pours, make it four.

A simple rule which eludes many drivers.

That is right as it only takes a second and yes they wont get to their destination any quicker by doing it either.

I don't know if it's an intimidation thing or whether they're just not thinking, but it's beyond me.

Yes it is beyond me as well of why they do it. I also think that intimidation is the main reason for it as well.

I hate when you are keeping a safe distance on the motorway and some mugwump thinks you have left that space just for them and pulls straight across into it.

I think OP, you mean DRIVERS who can't keep a safe distance? Yeah, bugs me too... the closer they get the slower I go.

My car can keep a safe distance thanks to active cruise control, which is one of the best features I've ever had on any car, ever.

It’s simple- if you leave too big a gap, some cunt in a white van will shoot up on the inside then cut in front of you.

This is one of my driving bug bears. The brainlessness of some people out on the roads never ceases to amaze me. You can have a mile of clear road behind you and you'll still get a car racing up to the back of you in order to hang off your back bumper. Sometimes I think it's in order to intimidate the car in front, so they'll either speed up or move out of the way. And sometimes I think some people are just too dumb to realise just what they are actually doing.

Either way, I honestly don't think they ever consider what will happen if the car in front has to slam on their brakes. They don't have any concept of reaction times and braking distances or if they do they think they are super human and such things don't apply to them. Regardless of their obvious lack of thought for fellow road users, at least have some regard for your own safety or any passengers you might be carrying. Just drop back a few metres. It might just save your life!

When someone does that to me I like to slow down, especially when they can't get past

A lot of foreigners on the roads who don't value life the same drive like God is their copilot so drive aggressive so you get out the way .

Cars is a very broad term

We could at least narrow it down to BMW or Audi’s

I hate people who drive 4 inches from your bumper. However where I live there are two tunnels under the Mersey. Lane changing isn't allowed. Many times I've been stuck behind someone who keeps dramatically varying their speed so I have to keep slowing right down to create space between us again and then it creates a knock on effect if there are any cars behind. So annoying!

Try driving a HGV in road works where the limit is 50mph and cars driving in the middle lane at 40mph or slower and will not move over to let you past.

Yes I meant the drivers too there.

I think from my observations that it's generally an intimidation strategy. My car is often at a fixed cruise control speed, observing the distance to others in front, so it doesn't increase its speed because some dangerous person wants it to. I only ever use anything other than the most left lane for overtaking and always make good safe progress.

There is lots of employment potential in the improvement of UK drivers' standards.

I usually sit with the cruise on the amount of people who go past then slow down in front of you is annoying. Then when you go past them still.on the cruise they give you a funny look or maybe that's just the clown mask I am wearing

Disclaimer I don't actually wear a clown mask.

Speed cameras don't do much to catch this sort of dangerous driving.

Then there's the joy of going from inside to outside lane and back again to get past that idiot sat in the middle lane.

If every one used the inner lanes on motorways the idiots could just get on with their speeding.
