When is a strike not a strike??

Ok, so you, me, the world and his dog, decide we need to go on strike for more cash, better pension etc.

What happens? Our employers quite rightly stop our pay until we return.

UNLESS OF COURSE YOU ARE A DOCTOR!!

Our NHS trust, amongst many others have decided in their wisdom it is only right to pay those that took action yesterday.

If only we were all that lucky!

I think Strike is the incorrect word used in what the doctors did, its more akin to 'Work to Rule' where an employee does not go on strike as such but only does what they are contracted to do.

I work in the public sector, Iam not in the union myself but earlier this year my colleagues who are members were told they had to strike and they were deducted a days pay.

Nobody union member or not HAS to strike, no matter what the union says, its a personal choice if you do or not
