I despair at my younger self

In the past (full-time mum) I watched "This morning". Today I watched about an hour to listen to some Prof talking about when they think we can hug again (ie pandemic over).

Watching the show made me cringe at how dense Phil, Holly and Amanda come across.

Ffs I used to watch this rubbish regularly

What say you of your younger self, or the programme in question?

Any virtual TV? Although, hands up, I do like gogglebox.

Big Brother, the first series and even possibly up to the third series I was enjoying the social experiment. However I then started to see it for what it was turning into. A soap opera without a script, just throw in some controversial people and alcohol then you’ll get newspaper articles and more viewers.

I was conned

By the way, any insight on when we can hug again or was it basically "who knows"?

My younger self was young , naive and immature which is what being young's about really. I was alright but could have been braver.

I watched This Morning a couple of times when Richard and Judy fronted it years ago and they had a weather forecaster (since disgraced I believe) jumping across a floating map of the British Isles. It passed the time when I was ill if I remember rightly. I do recall Richard trying to look composed when a guy phoned in saying "I shoot my load too quick"

Does this account for if there is a second wave?!

I'm back hugging my mum and dad, life is too short, it was affecting my kids emotionally to not hug their nan and grandad. My 10 year old woke up crying at 3am because he said he missed hugging them, like panic attack crying. I spoke to my mum and dad and they said enough is enough and that they can make decisions themselves for their own health.

I recently started hugging my dad again but he lives alone and I bubbled with him when that was brought it anyway. My mum has been working in ICU though so even though I've been round for dinner a couple of weeks ago after not seeing her since March, we're still being careful. I went to a restaurant on Sunday for the first time since pre lockdown too. I'm just usually quite cuddly with my friends so I miss that. The hardest thing though has been situations where people have been upset and being unable to physically comfort them .

He made a comment about there'll be no need for another lockdown if there is a second wave, just we all need to remember hand hygiene, social distancing and vigilance. And it's something we can take forward into the future for seasonal respiratory infections.

Oh BTW, he is a Prof of clinical epidemiology who is looking forward to face to face teaching in University this month.

I would say to my younger self:

Stop watching so much bloody television!"

When I got my own place I started with a TV and a few weeks later I got rid of it having realised what a waste of time watching it was. Luke
